In one non-limiting embodiment, there is provided a collateral device for use with one or more medicament devices including a collateral device housing and an opening extending there between, the opening configured to receive an adapter, at least a first sensor associated with the collateral device housing for detecting receipt of the portion of one or more medicament devices into the opening, and detecting actuation of an actuation mechanism of the medicament device; and an adapter receivable within the opening, the adapter comprising a receptacle for receiving and guiding a portion of a medicament device to a target surface.

In an embodiment, an injection simulation device is provided including a housing defining a channel, the housing comprising a proximal end and a distal end, a plunger comprising a plunger rod body having a proximal end and a distal end and a stopper disposed at the distal end of the plunger rod, the plunger movable proximally and distally within the channel; and a friction feature associated with the housing, the friction feature for interfacing with the plunger rod, wherein the plunger moves in a distal direction relative to the housing to simulate medicament delivery and in a proximal direction to reset the injection simulation device, wherein the friction feature optionally causes differential resistance on the plunger rod, when the plunger rod moves in either the distal or proximal direction.

In one embodiment, a resettable respiratory inhaler training device is provided herein. The resettable respiratory inhaler training device includes a device housing having an unlocked position and a locked position, the housing comprising a chamber; a cartridge for placement into the chamber, the cartridge comprising a body for insertion into the chamber and a base, said cartridge including a status indicator window to indicate a new or used cartridge, an aperture in the base and a shutter to selectively open or close the aperture; and a reset cap comprising a protrusion for interfacing with the aperture during reset of the device; wherein operation of the device changes the status indicator window from used to new to reset the cartridge for a subsequent use.

Respiratory inhaler cartridge placement training device

In an embodiment, an injection simulation device is provided. The injection simulation device may include a housing defining an opening, the housing having a proximal end and a distal end, a plunger movable relative to the housing, the plunger comprising a first interfacing portion, and distal movement of the plunger initiates an injection simulation, a rotatable component comprising a proximal end and a distal end, and an aperture extending between the proximal and distal ends of the rotatable component for receiving a portion of the plunger, rotatable component comprising a second interfacing portion for interfacing with the first interfacing portion to rotate the rotatable component when the plunger is moved toward the proximal or distal end of the housing. The injection simulation device may further include a stationary component defining a cavity for receiving the rotatable component, the cavity comprising a fluid, wherein movement of the plunger causes rotational and axial movement of the rotatable component, such that an interface between the rotatable component and the stationary component causes an increase in resistance during distal movement of the plunger, and a decrease in resistance occurs upon proximal movement of the plunger.

Plunger speed control training system and method

A container for delivering a medicament to a target location includes a housing having a proximal end and a distal end, the housing including a cap locking tab at the distal end, and a vial containing the medicament. The container includes a plunger slidable within the vial from a proximal end to a distal end of the vial to dispel the medicament, an injection member associated with the distal end of the vial, such that the medicament dispelled from the vial passes through the injection member to the target location, and a slidable interaction member associated with the distal end of the vial configured to slide with the vial. An interaction between the slidable interaction member and the cap locking tab causes the cap locking tab to bias outward, and placement of a safety cap on the container after use locks the safety cap onto the container via an interaction with the cap locking tab. The container may further include a resistance feature to control movement of a plunger rod relative to the vial.

Microcartridge

In embodiments herein, a resettable auto injection training device is provided, wherein actuation of the device requires both safety shield actuation and actuation member actuation. The training device includes audible feedback signaling actuation and completion of injection simulation. The training device audible feedback may be provided by movement of mechanical components relative to one another in embodiments herein. Further embodiments include safety features provided by compression of the safety shield post training to lock a plunger and injection simulation device within the training device until reset.

Resettable lateral actuation member-activated autoinjector training device

In an embodiment provided herein, an injection simulation device including a housing having a proximal end and a distal end is provided. The injection simulation device embodiment comprises a plunger having a proximal end, a distal end and being slidable relative to the housing, and a retractable injection simulation member at the distal end of the housing, at least one biasing member associated with the retractable injection simulation member and associated with the plunger, wherein a first force on a distal end of the injection simulation member causes movement of the injection simulation member from an extended position to a retracted position, to compress the first biasing member, and simulate the tactility of an injection to a user; and wherein a second force on the proximal end of the plunger asserts a third force on the first biasing member to facilitate resetting the injection simulation member to the extended position.

Injection simulation device and method

An injection training device for association with a skin of a user and simulating an injection event is provided herein. In a non-limiting embodiment, the injection training device comprises a housing having an opening for receiving a container, the housing comprising at least one sensor for detecting a condition of use of the device, wherein the housing is configured to be positioned at the skin of a user during an injection event.

Embodiments including an injection device having a housing with an outer surface, an inner surface, a proximal end and a distal end, and a defining a chamber extending between the proximal end and the distal end are provided herein. The device may include a plunger having a first end and a second end, the plunger being movable proximally and distally within the chamber of the housing, the plunger comprising a plunger rod extending from the first end to the second end of the plunger; and a plunger limiting mechanism configured to interface with the plunger rod, to limit the proximal movement of the plunger and prevent removal of the plunger from the housing.

The invention pertains to a portable insulated medicament container that includes a housing defining a cavity for receiving medicament for maintaining temperature control of the medicament. The housing has an opening for accessing the cavity, and the housing further includes one or more cooling elements for placement in the cavity. The invention also pertains to a method for using a portable insulated medicament container to store a medicament at a temperature range to avoid damage to the medicament.

In an embodiment, a metered dose inhaler (MDI) training device is provided herein. The MDI training device may include a housing having an inhalation port, an opening for receiving ambient air, the inhalation port and the opening are fluidly connected to provide an air flow channel, and a valve associated with the air flow channel, the valve having an opened state and a closed state, and an actuation member, wherein the valve is not allowed to enter the opened state if the actuation member is actuated prior to inhalation through the inhalation port.

A resettable injection training device for simulating an injection is provided in an embodiment herein. The device may include an outer housing, a safety shield having a proximal end and a distal end, the distal end for engaging with a target surface during an injection simulation, the safety shield comprising a retracted position, an extended unlocked position and an extended locked position, a plunger; and a locking tab for interfacing with the safety shield for interfacing with the safety shield the extended locked position, wherein if the safety shield distal end disengages from the target surface during an injection simulation, the safety shield extends to the extended, locked position until the device is reset.

Resettable injection training device

In an embodiment, a resettable shield-activated injection training device is provided. The training device includes an outer housing comprising a proximal end and a distal end, an inner housing comprising a proximal end and a distal end, plunger retention protrusions near the proximal end, and an asymmetrical projection at the distal end. The training device may further include a safety shield slidable relative to the outer housing between an extended position and a retracted position, a plunger slidable relative to the outer housing, the plunger comprising one or more plunger rail portions, and a rotatable reset component having axial and radial movement, the reset component comprising a proximal end, a distal end, an outer circumference, and an inner circumference, a notched portion, a plunger rail interface, and an asymmetrical ramped portion in the inner circumference, and a safety shield locking tab near the proximal end of the reset component configured to interact with the safety shield to lock the safety shield in an extended position. The training device may further include a reset spring associated with the rotatable reset component, wherein an interaction between the asymmetrical projection and the asymmetrical ramped portion of the reset component causes rotational and axial movement of the reset component toward the proximal end of the outer housing, loads the reset spring, and releases the contact between the safety shield locking tab and the safety shield to unlock the safety shield and reset the device.
