The system monitors multiple communication channels between a first communicator and a second communicator. At least a portion of the multiple channels spatially overlap. The overlapping channels carry different communications. The system determines whether a first set of two or more channels among the multiple channels are interfering with each other. Upon detecting interference, the system obtains a first multiplicity of physical resource blocks associated with a first channel and a second multiplicity of physical resource blocks associated with a second channel, where a physical resource block comprises a frequency band of predetermined size. The system allocates a first subset of the first multiplicity of physical resource blocks to the first channel, and a second subset of the second multiplicity of physical resource blocks to the second channel, where the first subset and the second subset do not overlap.

Reducing an interference between channels enabling communication between a satellite and a wireless telecommunication network

The system obtains an access class associated with a UE, where the access class indicates whether the UE is authorized to communicate with a satellite, and stores the access class at the UE. The system obtains broadcast information from the satellite, where the broadcast information indicates one or more access classes authorized to communicate with the satellite. The system determines whether the access class stored at the UE is included in the one or more access classes authorized to communicate with the satellite. Upon determining that the access class is not included in the one or more access classes, the system reduces communication with the satellite by refraining from sending a request to connect to the satellite. Upon determining that the access class is included in the one or more access classes, the system sends the request to connect to the satellite.

Increasing efficiency of communication between a mobile device and a satellite associated with a wireless telecommunication network

An emergency determining system configured as part of a cellular or mobile network to receive emergency data from public safety answering points and to evaluate the emergency based at least in part on third party data, network data, and the emergency data. For instance, the emergency determining system may determine a level, a geographic area, and/or a response to the emergency and to broadcast, via the cellular or mobile network, notifications to individual's personal electronic devices within the geographic area to alert the individuals to the emergency and to provide instructions related to an appropriate response by the individual.

System and method for generating localized emergency warnings

A first base station configured to exclude a first carrier from a list of multiple carriers of a second base station is described herein. Prior to excluding the first carrier, the first base station may select the first carrier for a user equipment (UE) based on first measurements of the multiple carriers of the second base station. The first base station may then determine that a connection between the UE and the second base station via the first carrier has failed and may provide an updated list of the multiple carriers of the second base station to the UE, the updated list excluding the first carrier. The first base station may then receive from the UE second measurements of the multiple carriers included in the updated list and select a second carrier of the second base station for the UE based on the second measurements.

Failure-induced selection of new radio carriers

A telecommunication network associated with a wireless telecommunication provider can be configured to transmit application data using different quality of service (QoS) specifications. In some configurations, data, other than voice and video data, can be transmitted using VoLTE or ViLTE data streams. According to some examples, network hardware and/or software (e.g., in the core network of a telecommunications network), and/or an application on the UE (smartphone, tablet, etc.) may translate data to be compatible with the VoLTE or ViLTE specifications. The translated data is transmitted from the device to the telecommunications network as a VoLTE or ViLTE packet stream. The converted packets may be identified (e.g., a unique digital signature) so that the corresponding hardware and software in the MSO can identify that a stream of VoLTE or ViLTE packets is to be converted back into the native format of the application before being routed to a destination.

Transmitting application data using different QoS specifications

Technologies for providing a testing environment to an Internet-of-Things (IoT) device, including a narrow band IoT device, are discussed herein. A testing device is connected to the IoT device and establishes a test data link with a testing environment, allowing for a test communication pathway that operates in parallel to the main communication link used by the IoT device. The testing device may use various communication protocols to perform testing on the IoT device. The testing device may also provide Internet capabilities by providing an Internet Protocol address to the data provided by the IoT device, allowing the IoT device to act as an Internet-enabled IoT device during testing.

Techniques for deploying Narrow Band Internet of Things (NB IoT) devices in wireless network(s) are discussed herein. NB IoT has several deployment modes: standalone, guard band, and in-band. Aspects of this disclosure are directed to deploying NB IoT devices in a Fourth Generation (4G) communication system to operate in a guard band mode and subsequently maintaining the deployment of those NB IoT devices in a Fifth Generation (5G) communication system to operate in an in-band mode.

Techniques for proxy based network access are discussed herein. In some examples, the techniques can be implemented in a network proxy device for Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS). A base station or a domain proxy device may manage or otherwise use CBRS resources by exchanging signaling messages with a Spectrum Access System (SAS). The base station or domain proxy device may transmit signaling messages in a first private network to a network device bridging the first private network and a second private network with limited access to a public network. The network device send proxy message(s) in response to the signaling messages to the SAS and can establish an encrypted session layer or application layer tunnel between the base station and/or domain proxy device. The proxy based network access preserves secure networks while still allowing limited messaging with other public or private networks.

A NarrowBand Internet of Things (NB-IoT) device can find a connection to an NB-IoT cell by searching for an available NB-IoT carrier. An available NB-IoT carrier can be found by scanning through frequencies associated with a plurality of channel numbers on a predefined NB-IoT channel list, the plurality of channel numbers being associated with a plurality of NB-IoT carriers offered by one or more base stations. The NB-IoT carriers are frequency bands within a larger spectrum band associated with a telecommunications provider. The NB-IoT device can camp on a particular NB-IoT carrier when the particular NB-IoT carrier has an available physical resource block (PRB).

A computing system may utilize interfering signals of two or more wireless devices for improving communications involving the two or more wireless devices. These techniques and architectures may allow for improved spectral efficiency that enables a relatively large number of wireless devices to communicate among one another via receivers that share overlapping or adjacent frequencies. Such utilization of interfering signals may help solve a general problem involving, for example, co-channel interference (CCI) arising from densely deployed relatively small wireless communication cells for increasing communication throughput.

Increasing wireless spectral efficiency by leveraging interfering signals

A method of inducing increased throughput to a telecommunication device, in which the telecommunication device sets a rank indicator (RI) based on a number of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) data streams received and decoded from a base station, determines an error rate of the decoded MIMO data streams, and increases the RI when it is less than a maximum RI and the error rate is less than an RI increase threshold. The RI is reported from the telecommunication device to the base station, which uses the increased RI to increase the number of MIMO data streams it sends to the telecommunication device.
