The subject technology is directed to systems and methods for integrating inductors within printed circuit boards. In an embodiment, the subject technology provides an apparatus that includes a substrate comprising a first layer and a first inductor coupled to the first layer. The first inductor includes a second layer comprising a first metal material and a third layer comprising a second metal material. The third layer is coupled to the second layer through a first interconnect. The first inductor may be embedded within the substrate to enable efficient space utilization, leading to overall miniaturization and improved performance due to shorter signal paths and reduced parasitic effects. There are other embodiments as well.

Systems and methods for integrating inductors within printed circuit boards

A filter device for multi-band wireless communication includes a first circuit characterized by a first pass-band from a first frequency to a second frequency; a second circuit characterized by a second pass-band from a frequency no smaller than the first frequency to a third frequency, the third frequency being no higher than the second frequency but higher than the first frequency; a third circuit characterized by a third pass-band from a fourth frequency to a frequency no greater than the second frequency, the fourth frequency being no smaller than the first frequency but smaller than the second frequency; and a switch configured to connect the first circuit either to the second circuit to reconfigure a first filter with the second pass-band or to the third circuit to reconfigure a second filter with the third pass-band.

Reconfigurable filters in multiplexer

An RF multiplexing switching circuit for an RF front end (e.g., for a mobile communications device transmitting/receiving in the RF region) includes a set of RF inputs and a set of RF outputs outputting to RF filters, the RF inputs and outputs connected by signal paths. The switching circuit includes series switches for creating conducting signal paths for transmitting/receiving RF signals between the RF inputs and outputs, and a set of common shared shunt switches (e.g., for M RF inputs and N RF outputs, M+X shunt switches, where X<N) collectively capable (e.g., in conjunction with the series switches) of pulling to ground potential any RF input and output not on the conducting signal path. The RF switching circuit may be implemented as a band select switch (e.g., where the inputs connect to power amplifiers) or an antenna switch (e.g., where the inputs connect to device antennas).

Configurable radio frequency (RF) multiplexing switch for RF front end in 4G/5G applications

A filter device configured to directly connect to a differential power amplifier of a transmit chain circuit. The filter device may include a transformer and a filter configured as a half lattice equivalent topology and having a single-ended output. The filter may be a lattice filter configured as a full lattice topology or a lattice equivalent filter configured as a half lattice equivalent topology. The filter includes a first branch having a first impedance network of one or more first impedance elements and a second branch having a second impedance network of one or more second impedance elements. The single-ended output of the filter device may connect to an antenna switch that is in turn connected to an antenna.

Wideband filter for direct connection to differential power amplifier

A device combines filter circuits to be connected to an antenna, enabling carrier aggregation for wireless communications over multiple RF frequency bands in different operational environments. The device includes first, second and third filter circuits having first, second and third matching networks and one or more first, second and third band pass filters with corresponding passbands, respectively. The device further includes multiple individual matching networks not dedicated to any of the first, second or third filter circuits, and a multi-state switch configured to provide different filter circuit combinations by selectively connecting at least two of the first, second and third filter circuits, respectively, and at least one individual matching network of the multiple matching networks. Each filter circuit combination includes a combined matching network having at least two of the first, second and third matching networks and the at least one individual matching network.

Switched multiplexer device selectively connecting multiple filter circuits to common node for carrier aggregation

A duplexer includes a transmit filter and an integrated receive filter configured to filter a receive signal from an antenna. The integrated receive filter includes a receive filter portion having multiple acoustic resonator filter elements and a matched balun configured to convert a single-ended input signal, received at a single-ended input of the matched balun from a single-ended output of the receive filter portion, to a differential output signal. The matched balun being is located in place of a phase matching inductor of the receive filter portion, eliminating need for the phase matching inductor of the receive filter portion and a phase matching inductor of the matched balun. Impedance at the single-ended input of the matched balun includes a complex conjugate of impedance at the single-ended output of the receive filter portion.
