A diode plate for an electric machine includes a body having a thickness and defining a central axis thereof. A plurality of cooling plates having a uniform thickness of 1 millimeter or less over the entire surface area of the cooling plates are mounted onto the body of the diode plate. A plurality of louvered slots may be formed within each of the cooling plates. Each louvered slot has a louvered portion that extends from the cooling plate at a predetermined angle relative to the cooling plate.

Cooling plate for alternator rectifier

An alternator having a plurality of positive and negative diodes, is disclosed. The alternator further includes a plurality of stator windings each of the plurality of stator windings has a first end and a second end, and a first diode plate for fixing one of the plurality of positive and plurality of negative diodes in a first orientation. Further, the alternator includes a second diode plate for fixing the other of the plurality of negative and plurality of positive diodes in a second orientation. Each of the anodes of the positive diodes are connected to each of the cathodes of the negative diodes and to at least one end of each of the plurality of stator windings to form a rectifier bridge circuit.

An alternator assembly has a cover with a brush holder and bearing retainer assembly positioned therein. The brush holder and bearing retainer assembly has a bearing retainer housing , a brush holder housing and a cap . The bearing retainer housing has a cup-shaped end portion and a brush holder retaining portion . The cup-shaped end portion has a liner that is preferably integrally molded therewith. The liner is preferably formed of the same material as the bearing of the alternator assembly . The cup-shaped end portion has receiving channels for receiving retention flanges formed in the brush holder housing
