Radiation curable aqueous compositions (I) with reduced photo-yellowing are provided. Said composition comprises water, at least one ethylenically unsaturated compound and at least one carboxylic acid hydrazide-containing compound (H) in an amount sufficient to reduce photo-yellowing. Materials of the invention have the advantage that they help to reduce photo-yellowing. They may have a beneficial effect on long term yellowing caused by weathering too. Compositions (I) of the invention allow a better quality control of products and materials just after cure. Materials of the invention can be used to make coatings, inks, paints, varnishes and adhesives and they are further suitable for the making of composites, gel coats, 3D-curing and the making of 3D-objects in general.

Radiation curable aqueous compositions

The present invention relates to an aqueous resin composition (I) comprising at least one polymerizable ethylenically unsaturated polyurethane polymer (A), optionally, at least one polymerizable ethylenically unsaturated compound (B) different from (A), and optionally, at least one neutralizing agent (C); wherein the polyurethane polymer (A) has a weight average molecular weight of less than 15.000 Daltons and is obtained from the reaction of: at least one polyisocyanate (i); at least one hydrophilic compound (ii) containing at least one reactive group capable to react with isocyanate groups and at least one group which is capable to render the polyurethane polymer dispersible or soluble in aqueous medium either directly or after reaction with a neutralizing agent (C) to provide a salt; at least one compound (iii) containing essentially one reactive group capable to react with isocyanate groups and at least one copolymerizable ethylenically unsaturated group; at least one compound (iv) containing at least two reactive groups capable to react with isocyanate groups; and, optionally, at least one chain extender (v) containing at least two reactive groups capable to react with isocyanate groups, which chain extender is different from compounds (iv); and wherein the non-volatile components of the resin composition (I) after drying are re-dispersible or re-soluble in water at 25&#xb0; C. The present invention further relates to radiation curable compositions comprising a resin composition of the invention for use in coating applications or graphic art applications.

Radiation curable aqueous compositions with reversible drying

An aqueous radiation curable composition containing at least one ethylenically unsaturated polyurethane (A) and at least one ethylenically unsaturated polyurethane (B), different from the polyurethane (A), said ethylenically unsaturated polyurethane (B) preferably being characterized by a molecular weight that is below 10,000 Daltons; and optionally, at least one ethylenically unsaturated compound (C) different from (A) and (B); wherein the radiation curable composition in dry form has a steady-state creep viscosity &#x3b7;, expressed as the apparent viscosity after a deformation time of 30 minutes with a load &#x3c3;O=50 Pa at 23&#xb0; C., that is above 1&#xb7;10Pa&#xb7;s, more preferably above 1&#xb7;10Pa&#xb7;s. The compositions are characterized by an improved creep viscosity &#x3b7;and provide polymer materials with a good flow and mirror effect. In general, these materials are less sensitive to dust pick-up and fingerprints. Further provided is a one-vessel solvent free process for preparing such materials.

Radiation curable aqueous compositions with controlled polymer flow

The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of dispersions of colloidal polymerized particles and to the colloidal polymerized particles obtained and/or obtainable by the process as well as to their use.

Process for the preparation of colloidal polymerized particles

The present invention provides for an ethylenically unsaturated hydroxyl-terminated polyurethane (I) obtained by reacting (i) at least one ethylenically unsaturated compound (A) containing at least two reactive groups capable of reacting with isocyanate groups and at least one ethylenically unsaturated group; with (ii) at least one saturated alcohol component (B) comprising: (iia) at least one saturated hydroxylated compound (B1) containing hydrophilic groups capable of rendering the polyurethane dispersible in aqueous medium either directly or after the reaction with a neutralizing agent to provide a salt, and at least one compound (B2) that is selected from saturated polyester polyols (B21) and/or from saturated polycarbonate polyols (B22); and/or (iib) at least one compound (B3) that is selected from saturated polyester polyols (B31) containing compound (B1) moieties and/or from saturated polycarbonate polyols (B32) containing compound (B1) moieties; and, optionally, one or more of compounds (B1) and/or (B2); (iii) optionally, at least one ethylenically unsaturated compound (C) containing essentially one reactive group capable of reacting with isocyanate groups; and with (iv) at least one polyisocyanate (D). The present invention further relates to radiation curable coating compositions comprising same, to their preparation process and their uses.

Radiation curable compositions

The present invention relates to an ethylenically unsaturated hydroxyl-terminated polyurethane (I) obtained by reacting (i) at least one ethylenically unsaturated compound (A) containing at least two reactive groups capable of reacting with isocyanate groups and at least one ethylenically unsaturated group; with (ii) at least one saturated alcohol component (B) comprising: (iia) at least one saturated hydroxylated compound (B1) containing hydrophilic groups capable of rendering the polyurethane dispersible in aqueous medium either directly or after the reaction with a neutralizing agent to provide a salt, and, optionally, at least one compound (B2) that is selected from saturated polyester polyols (B21) and/or from saturated polycarbonate polyols (B22); and/or (iib) at least one compound (B3) that is selected from saturated polyester polyols (B31) containing compound (B1) moieties and/or from saturated polycarbonate polyols (B32) containing compound (B1) moieties; and, optionally, one or more of compounds (B1) and/or (B2); (iii) optionally, at least one ethylenically unsaturated compound (C) containing essentially one reactive group capable of reacting with isocyanate groups; with (iv) at least one polyisocyanate (D) selected from a tetramethylxylenediisocyanate. The present invention further relates to dispersions in water containing same, to their production and uses.

The invention relates to amino(meth)acrylates obtained from the reaction of amines with a mixture of urethane(meth)acrylates and (meth)acrylated diluent sand their use for making coatings, adhesives, varnishes and inks. The amino(meth)acrylates of the invention are particularly suited for use in sealer compositions for parquet and laminate floors.

The present invention relates to an aqueous radiation curable coating composition comprising at least one radiation curable polymer (A) and at least one organic matting polymer (B) providing uniform matt coatings.

Aqueous radiation curable coating compositions

Radiation curable compositions comprising at least one radiation curable oligomer responding to a structure (C)&#x2014;(B)-(A)-[(B)(C)]wherein (A) is the residue of one or more hydroxyl functional polyester having a molecular weight Mhigher than 900, a Tand/or Tm of 5 less than 30&#xb0; C., and which is obtained from an acid constituent comprising at least 75 mole % of saturated aliphatic polyacid and, optionally, 0 to 25 mole % of another polyacid and an alcohol constituent, (B) is the residue of one or more polyisocyanate, (C) is the residue of one or more ethylenically unsaturated hydroxyl compound, and x is from 0.5 to 10.

A container comprising a flexible semi-permeable composite membrane structure is described, as well as its applications. The membrane has a low molecular weight cut-off, comprises a flexible support layer thick enough to give strength to the membrane structure and having a relatively high molecular weight cut-off and, on at least one surface of the said support layer, a second layer having a relatively low molecular weight cut-off and is thin enough to allow a workable flux. Said container may be used for the preparation of rehydrated solute solutions, rehydrated blood or blood substitutes, nutritional solutions, solutions for medical purpose or of pure water.
