This invention provides in centrifugal motor pumps and the like a safety structure embodying a bearing bushing coaxially mounted with respect to the pump shaft in a space between the shaft and the body of the pump, with the bushing designed to act as a hydrodynamic bearing in the case of decentering of the pump shaft or similar disfunction only.

A linking arrangement for a shaft and a moving part, such as a fly-wheel, rotating about the same axis includes two coaxial rims fastened to the shaft and moving part, respectively, with radial notches situated on opposed surfaces of the rims that are fixed in contact with one another. The notches provide housings for a set of cylindrical pins so that rotary motion can be transmitted between the shaft and the moving part. Stress-relieving grooves are provided at the bottom portions of the notches so as to permit constant contact between the rims and between the notches and the pins regardless of differential expansion of components of the linking arrangement. A principal application of the linking arrangement is to connect a shaft to a fly-wheel or a shaft to a rotary pump impeller.

Hydrostatic guide bearing of a seat

In a hydrostatic bearing for pumps of fluid under pressure which is supplied by the pumped fluid, the operation of the bearing is ensured regardless of the conditions present in the pump. To this end, the nozzles of fluid supply of the openings of the race bearing are connected upstream to two compartments of the pump containing the fluid under two different pressures, through the intermediary of a ball valve, and two expansion chambers are arranged in the race on one side and the other of the openings and are connected downstream to the two compartments through the intermediary of ball valves.

Hydrostatic bearing with security of function

The invention concerns hydrostatic bearings supplied with fluid under pressure for a shaft rotating at high speed in a fixed bed, with the goal of reducing the power dissipated by shear of the fluid in the said bearings. According to the invention, a sleeve (5) is disposed coaxially to the shaft (1) in a chamber arranged for this purpose between the bed (3) and the shaft (1), with apertures being arranged respectively in the shaft and in the bed, opposite the sleeve on one side and the other, in such a way that a movement in rotation can be imparted to the sleeve (5), the structure being particularly applicable to fluid pumps.
