A clutch mechanism comprising a wear take-up device including a ring with ramps bearing an outer toothing and set between a pressure plate and support member (engagement zones) to constitute a pressure plate with varying thickness between its friction surface and the support member. A box having a worm screw cooperates with the toothing.
