Method for isolating microorganism from a sample likely contaminated by microorganism, including: (a) device for isolating microorganisms including a bottom waterproof layer, a nutritional layer, which is placed on the bottom layer and includes a dehydrated culture medium, an isolation layer which is pervious to elements included in the nutritional layer and is capable of retaining the bacteria on the surface and covering all or part of the nutritional layer, and a top protective layer; (b) depositing a volume of the sample on the isolation layer; (c) isolating the microorganisms by impoverishing or layering the sample using an isolating device; (d) incubating the device for an amount of time at a temperature to enable growth of microorganisms, method including at least one step of rehydrating the culture medium using a volume of liquid before or with step b) and/or c) and/or d), before or simultaneously with step b) and/or c).

A method of processing at least one biological sample capable of containing at least one target microorganism, the method being carried out within a container and including: (a) performing at least one step of homogenizing the biological sample, during which contents of the container are displaced from a level n, corresponding to a level of the contents at rest, to a homogenization level nh, distinct from the level n, and vice versa; and (b) generating a displacement of the contents to a level n+1, which is different from levels n and nh, such that the contents come into contact with at least one culture, at least one analysis device, or a combination thereof, positioned in a chamber of the container, between level n+1 inclusive and level nh exclusive, wherein step b) takes place before, after or during all or part of the homogenization step a).

A method for detecting at least one microorganism present in a sample, that includes: a) in a first container, bringing the sample into contact with at least one culture medium, b) placing the first container in suitable conditions to permit growth of the microorganism or microorganisms, c) bringing some or all of the mixture being made of the sample and the culture medium into contact with a reaction mixture and a substrate for capturing the microorganism(s) in the first container or in a second container, the reaction mixture having a device for detecting the microorganism(s); d) detecting, within the first or second container, the presence of the microorganism or microorganisms detected by the detecting device and fixed on the capture substrate.

One embodiment provides a device for processing at least one biological sample capable of containing at least one target microorganism within at least one container. The device having at least one displacement device for generating the displacement of the contents of the at least one container and at least one site for receiving the at least one container. Additionally, the at least one container can receive the at least one biological sample within the at least one container, the container being delimited by a wall fixed on a base. Further, the at least one displacement device may be movable with respect to the base, and the at least one container may include a flexible material which allows the at least one container to be compressed against said wall.
