This fitting is of the type whose body has a cross bore and at one end, means to connection to one of two elements to be connected using said tubes while at its other end it has an annular chamber coaxial to the bore meant to receive one end of a tube by simple engagement, the chamber holding various annular mechanisms to retain the tube, coaxial to the chamber and arranged between its wall and the tube, that is, a retainer ring partially closing the chamber and able to slide in it, a waterproof seal and a part with radial prongs. According to the invention, the fitting is made up of, on one hand, a body 4 having said cross bore 10 and said connection means 11 and 12 and, on the other hand, of a bushing 5 which can be assembled in the body 4, limiting said chamber 20 and made up of means 30 to 33 for retaining the various aforementioned mechanisms 21, 22 and 23 which it holds.

Pronged fitting

In a tube fitting a nut which extends about the end of a tube allows the tube to be threadedly joined to a nipple. The end of the tube is formed in the shape of a collar which retains the nut. The face of the collar is flattened to sealingly meet with an o-ring which resides in an annular recess in the frontal surface of the nipple. The process of forming the collar in the end of the tube includes placing a nut on the tube, gripping the end of the tube with a die, and deforming the end of the tube with a tool of truncated cone-shape move in an advancing, precessing motion. The die is shaped with interior shoulders having the profile of the collar. A socket which forms the back side of the collar can be placed over the tube after the die grips the tube. After the collar formed the dies is removed.

Process for obtaining a hermetic connection for rigid tube

This catch, which may be used either with rapid connections which can be uncoupled, and those which can not, is of the type which consists of an annular part (2), of spring steel, having teeth (4), directed radially inward, and of which the free edges (4a) are inscribed in a circle (5) of diameter (D.sub.1), greater than the outer diameter (D.sub.2) of the tube (6) for which the rapid connection equipped with this catch is intended. Each tooth (4) has a free edge (4a) in a circle arc of radius (R) less than that of the circle (5) in which this free edge (4a) is inscribed.

This coupler with valves is of the type which includes an outer tubular body (2), equipped, at one end (2') with means (3) of rigid connection with a source of fluid under pressure, at the other end of which is made the female fitting (7') of the coupler, this female fitting (7'), which contains the valve (14), situated on the feed circuit side, being arranged to permit the engagement and the locking, in its bore, of the male fitting (11) of this coupler, which, in turn, contains the valve (13), situated on the side of use of the fluid under pressure. The head of the valve (14), situated on the feed side, has a bore (14a), supporting an auxiliary valve (22), of which the return spring (25) is weaker than that (15) of the main valve (14), and which can be pushed back into open position by the valve (13) of the male fitting (11), as soon as this latter exerts a push against it, this auxiliary valve (22) being arranged so that its opening puts into communication the spaces (28, 31) situated on either side of the seat (18) of the main valve (14).

Valve coupler with decompression

This fitting has a transverse bore (3) and, at one of its ends, a male or female threaded end to connect it immovably to one of the two parts to be joined by means of tube (6) and, at its other end, a ring-shaped chamber (5) which is coaxial to bore (3) and which, in addition to a ring-shaped watertight joint (9) and a retaining collar (8), houses a ring-shaped member (7) which has prongs (7a) slanted toward the rear (5a) of chamber (5) and pro-jecting radially into chamber (5), thus delimiting an inside diameter normally smaller than the outside diameter of the connecting tube, the purpose of this chamber (5) being to receive and retain one of the ends of tube (6) simply by inserting it to the rear (5a) of the chamber and the inside and outside diameters of chamber (5) corresponding approximately to the outside diameter of tube (6), while the outside diameter is greater than the outside diameter of tube (6) to make it possible to house the ring-shaped joint (9), the pronged member (7) and the retaining collar (8), and within which the ring-shaped pronged member is associated with a ring-shaped support (11) having an outer ring (11a) of the same outside diameter as ring-shaped pronged member (7) and an inner tubular part that has an inside diameter normally equal to or slightly greater than the outside diamter of connecting tube (6) and of which the free edge is oriented toward prongs (7a) of the pronged member (7) for the purpose of limiting, while serving as support for their swing in the direction of penetration into the wall of the tube. The inner tubular part is formed of tabs (11b) connected to ring ( 11a) mentioned above by their heel-shaped part (11c) curved radially outward.

A coupling device for receiving and retaining a coupling piece allowing coupling with pressure in the piece coupled while also providing flow checking to prevent unintended closing of the coupled valves. The device includes first and second joined tubular pieces axially movable with respect to each other between a receiving position for receiving a coupling piece and a retaining position for retaining a coupling piece. A valve is movable in the coupling piece between a closed position, an open position and a position past open allowing coupling to a coupling piece with fluid pressure therein. A stop is responsive to the receiving and retaining positions of the tubular pieces so that only when the pieces are in a receiving position can the valve move from an open position to a position past open. The stop is preferably a shoulder on a stem of the valve which engages the leading edge of a collet actuated by a sleeve. The sleeve is disposed between the valve stem and the second tubular piece.
