A method of generating electricity with a fuel cell includes a phase in which the cell is primed; and a phase in which the cell functions at a stable rate, during which the cell, fed with a hydrogenated gas, generates electricity and heat. In order to prime the cell, it is fed with a hydrogenated gas including at least 70 vol. % hydrogen, generated by self-sustaining combustion of at least one hydrogenated gas-generating solid pyrotechnic charge; and while it is operating at a stable rate, the cell is fed with a hydrogenated gas containing at least 85 vol. % hydrogen, generated by thermal decomposition of at least one hydrogenated gas-generating solid pyrotechnic charge; a portion of the heat produced by the operating cell being transferred to the at least one solid charge in order to start and maintain the thermal decomposition thereof.

A pyrotechnic process for providing very high purity hydrogen, includes the combustion of at least one solid pyrotechnic charge capable of generating hydrogen-containing gas for the production of a pressurized hot hydrogen-containing gas that contains at least 70% by volume of hydrogen; and the purification of at least one portion of the pressurized hydrogen-containing gas, by passing through a metallic hydrogen separation membrane maintained at a temperature above 250&#xb0; C., in order to obtain, at the outlet of the membrane, a hydrogen-containing gas that contains at least 99.99% by volume of hydrogen.

The present invention relates to a method for obtaining borazane, said method being suitable for obtaining borazane containing a low level of impurities. The borazane (obtained by reaction of at least one ammonium salt with at least one alkali and/or alkaline earth metal borohydride) in solution in THF is selectively precipitated with a non-solvent. The precipitated borazane can further be purified by selective dissolution. The borazane obtained after selective precipitation and dissolution contains less than 1% by weight of impurities and/or does not exhibit exothermic decomposition in the solid state with a temperature range of the endothermic melting peak above 110&#xb0; C.
