A panel-forming assembly which is intended to be fixed to a surface of a vehicle or an aircraft, for example the floor of the trunk or a surface of the hatch of the spare-wheel compartment, and comprising, on the one hand, a panel of foam of expanded thermoplastic material, in particular expanded polypropylene or expanded polystyrene, which is constituted of an agglomeration of balls made of thermoplastic material and, on the other hand, hooks and/or loops issuing from the panel and intended to cooperate with loops and/or hooks issuing from the said one surface of a vehicle, characterized in that the assembly comprises an intermediate element () comprising a plate () from a face of which project the hooks () and/or the loops issuing from the panel that cooperate with the loops and/or the hooks () issuing from the surface of the vehicle, while from a face opposite the said one face of the plate there projects at least one piece () in the form of a fir tree comprising elements in the form of fir-tree branches () defining between them intermediate spaces or interstices (d), which piece is inserted into the panel ().

Panel made of expanded foam with hooks or loops

A bicomponent elastic fiber that includes a core formed of an elastic fiber and having a sheath formed of a non-elastic material surrounding the core. The sheath has at least one cut therein extending at an angle to the length of the fiber to expose and release the elasticity of the core elastic fiber. This provides elasticity to the bicomponent elastic fiber.

A method for manufacturing a laminated assembly having a first layer with a face secured by an adhesive to a first face of a second layer having a meshed structure and having loops projecting from its second face. The method includes the step of depositing and adhering a thin film onto the first face of the second layer under controlled adhesive quantity and viscosity conditions so that the deposited film divides by itself to clear the mesh zones and to be converted into longitudinal and/or transverse beads.

Method for manufacturing a laminated assembly comprising a layer

A laminated assembly forming the female, loop portion of a self-gripping hook-and-loop fastener. The assembly includes a light-weight, open, mechanically fragile and dimensionally unstable knitted fabric adhered in a flat condition onto a support member, the knitted fabric including interknitted warp and weft yarns, and a multitude of loops having feet cooperating with the warp and weft yarns and a pair of elongate legs extending from the feet and forming a free loop top remote from the feet. The loops are sized in relation to the spacing of the warp and weft yarns of the fabric so that at least one of the two legs of the loop intersects at least one of the warp or weft yarns in spaced-apart relation from the foot of the at least one leg so that each of the loops bears on at least one warp or weft yarn to form an overlapping zone where the loop does not adhere to the support member, thus maintaining the self-gripping ability of the loops.
