In a method for the spectral analysis of a metal coating layer deposited on the surface of a steel strip, the strip is moved along an arc of the outer surface of a rotating roller with a cylindrical wall guiding the strip by contact. An ablation laser beam is guided into an internal cavity of the cylindrical wall to be placed in optical incidence under a normal axis on the outer surface of the roller on a targeted contact point of the strip and the roller. The beam passes through the wall via a wall opening, which is transparent to the beam. A plasma spectral emission distribution from the laser ablation to the contact point is collected by optical feedback in the direction of the normal axis on the outer surface of the roller and through the opening in order to be guided towards a spectral measurement unit. The normal axis on the outer surface for the optical incidence and feedback is placed in synchronous rotation with the roller.

A device for the laser weld joining of sheet metal strips includes the following elements: a main frame, a laser welding unit including a laser beam generator for welding the sheet metal strips to be joined and a welding head, a clamping jaw unit supported by the frame and used to clamp the sheet metal strips, and a shearing unit for shearing the head and tails of the sheet metal strips to be joined. The shearing unit includes upper blades mounted to a blade holder and lower blades which can move in relation to the upper blades and which are designed to shear a strip, as well as a blade connecting structure fixed to the frame, the above-mentioned welding head being mobile between the blade holder and the lower blades.

A method for inspecting a strip in a reversible rolling plant comprising at least one cage arranged between two winding/unwinding devices each having a mandrel. The rolling is performed in several passes until the requested thickness is obtained over the whole length of a useful part ranging between two service lengths maintained wound on each of the mandrels. According to the invention, at the end of the last pass between a winder/unwinder placed upstream of the cage in the rolling direction and acting as an uncoiler, and a downstream winder/unwinder acting as a coiler, the upstream service length is unwound completely from the uncoiler, then subjected to a roll pass; the strip is then cut in the vicinity of the end of its useful part to release, at its rear end in the direction of the last pass, an inspection length whereof at least one part corresponds to said upstream service length rolled once.

The invention relates to a method and a device for winding a band into a coil on a chuck driven into rotation around its axis, by means of a winding assembly including a roll () for applying the band (), by an internal face (), to the chuck () means () for pushing the roll () towards the chuck () and a bending plate () having a curved face () for guiding the band () along the external face () of the chuck (). Method and device for rolling up a strip

A cooled mandrel for winding a band-type product into a coil, including a set of adjacent segments mounted to slide radially on a central shaft and fitted each of a cooling circuit having two orifices, respectively an inlet orifice and an outlet orifice, connected each, by a connection fitting having a variable length, to a supply or exhaust duct, respectively of a heat exchanging fluid. The linking fittings corresponding to each segment are connected to a distribution part threaded on a lateral face of the shaft, wherein both ducts emerge transversally, respectively of the supply duct and the exhaust duct, which are arranged inside the central shaft.

A turntable coiler for reeling a strip product, comprising a frame mounted rotatably around a central axis, and at least two fixed cantilever reeling mandrels, each in the alignment of a rotation shaft mounted rotatably on two spaced centering bearings. Each mandrel is connected to a motor comprising a rotor fastened to the shaft of the mandrel, and a stator. Each mandrel, its rotation shaft with both bearings and the motor form a motor-mandrel assembly mounted in an independent chassis on which are fastened the stator of the motor and both centering bearings of the shaft carrying the rotor, and the rotary frame is provided with at least two supporting devices, connected to removable bolts for centering and fastening the chassis of the motor-mandrel assembly, in a position for which the reeling axis defined by the bearings is parallel to the central axis, and each motor-mandrel assembly thus constitutes an interchangeable module.

The offset of the roll (1) in relation to a centering position is measured continuously, and the pressure exerted by each bending jack (6) is adjusted at each moment as a function of the offset measured and of the position at the same moment of the particular jack (6) in relation to the mid-plane (P5) of a bearing (12), such that the resultant of the bending forces exerted by all the jacks (6, 66) remains directed at each moment in the mid-plane (P5) of the bearing (12), the bending jacks bearing on the chocks by sliding faces.
