A breaker is provided including: a first stationary contact having a first stationary contact portion; a movable contact having a first movable contact portion; an actuating member to actuate the movable contact; a first arc extinguishing device; a first arc running piece extending from a first arc running end portion arranged adjacent to the first stationary contact portion to a second arc running end portion through the first arc extinguishing device; and an arc guiding piece having a first arc guiding section extending in the first direction, the first arc guiding section being arranged between the movable contact and the first arc extinguishing device in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. The second arc running end portion and the first arc guiding section are arranged at opposite sides of the first arc extinguishing device in the second direction. A contactor including the breaker is further provided.

Breaker and contactor

A fan housing mounting assembly includes an engagement mechanism configured to support a fan module and a housing configured to support the engagement mechanism. The engagement mechanism is pivotally connected to the housing. The assembly further includes a mesh plate including at least one connector coupled to the engagement mechanism. The mesh plate is configured to move with respect to the housing between a first position in which the mesh plate is spaced from the housing and a second position in which the mesh plate is adjacent to the housing. The assembly further includes a spring configured to engage the engagement mechanism. The spring is configured to bias the engagement mechanism to pivot with respect to the housing to present the fan module for removal. When the engagement mechanism is pivoted with respect to the housing, the mesh plate is maintained in the second position.

System and method for replacing a fan in an energized state

An electric switching unit comprises a casing and a plurality of arc extinguishing chambers formed inside the casing, each arc extinguishing chamber comprising a gas discharge orifice opening to outside the casing. The electric switching unit comprises a filtering device positioned outside the casing and comprising: a plurality of inlet openings placed on a lower region of the filtering device, each one being configured to collaborate fluidically with one of the said gas discharge orifices; an outlet opening placed on a lateral region of the filtering device; a common internal chamber which places the inlet openings in fluidic communication with the outlet opening; and a filter located inside the internal chamber between the inlet openings and the outlet opening.

A high-voltage multipolar circuit breaker including a first chamber for receiving gases, in communication with a first arc quenching chamber, and including a first aperture for exhausting gases to the exterior of the casing, the aperture being provided with a first downstream filtering device. The circuit breaker furthermore includes at least one second chamber for receiving gases, in communication with at least one second arc quenching chamber of another pole of the circuit breaker, the chamber itself being equipped with a second upstream device for filtering gases, the second chamber for receiving gases including a second aperture for exhausting gases to the exterior of the casing, the chamber being provided with a second downstream filtering device, the first chamber for receiving gases and the second chamber for receiving gases being separated fluidically one from the other by an impermeable wall.

A single-pole breaking unit which includes a rotary contact bridge, a stationary contact operating with the contact bridge and connected to a current input, a rotary bar having radially extending axial end surfaces, and radial side surfaces with a transverse hole for the contact bridge which is salient through opposite radial side surfaces of the bar, an arc extinguishing chamber opening onto an opening volume for the contact bridge, two parallel side panels parallel to the axial end surfaces of the bar, with the rotary bar located between two sealing flanges between the axial end surfaces of the rotary bar and the side panels and movable axially toward the side panels to ensure tightness between the inside and the outside of the breaking unit, the sealing flanges each comprising a radially extending portion, and a cylindrical portion, both co-axial with the rotary bar, which cylindrical portion has an inside radius slightly less than the radial extent of the rotary bar, providing a space between the inside surface of the cylindrical portion and the rotary bar, the space permitting quenching gases to flow directly to push a sealing flange axially against a side panel to achieve tightness.

Method and system for controlling and limiting the damage caused by arcs formed on exposed conductors in electrical distribution equipment involve using the tendency of an arc to move in a direction away from a current source and toward the terminal ends of the conductors. An arc interruption device, or arc interrupter, is placed over the terminal ends of the conductor to capture the arc as it travels toward the terminal ends of the conductors. Within the arc interrupter, the shape of the arc is conformed to geometries designed to stretch and extend the arc to the point where it can no longer be sustained and is extinguished.

The exhaust channel () comprises a rotating gate () designed to be rotated around an axis substantially perpendicular to the exhaust channel () by the passage of switching gases. The rotating gate () comprises an edge () positioned across from an inner wall () of the exhaust channel, in the first obstruction position. The arrangement of the rotating gate () and the inner wall () is such that the distance between said edge () and said inner wall () remains constant and equal to said first distance up to a first threshold value of the angle of rotation of the rotating gate (), then increases linearly up to a second rotation angle threshold value corresponding to complete opening of the discharge channel. The invention also relates to a switching unit comprising at least one single-pole switching unit.
