In the method of communication on a vehicle including an aircraft or a spacecraft, the vehicle transmits an electromagnetic signal from at least one transmitter on-board the vehicle directly to at least one receiver on-board the vehicle and with transmission taking place solely through an environment outside the vehicle. Transmission takes place several times over, and during transmission at least one member from the group including the transmitter and the receiver is set into movement relative to a support in direct contact with the member and with a portion of the vehicle carrying the member.

Method of communication on an aircraft or a spacecraft, via the outside environment

A device for measuring a physical quantity by time-division coding includes a source (1) capable of generating light pulses; a coder (2), the position of which depends on the value of the physical quantity, a sensor (4) including apparatus (5) for sending the light pulses to the coder (2) and a receiver (6) for receiving the coded light pulses, and an analyzer (7) for analyzing the coded light pulses connected to the sensor. The source (1) is capable of generating light pulses simultaneously at two different wavelengths (.lambda.1, .lambda.2), and the sensor (4) is provided with apparatus (9a) for separating the light pulses on the basis of their wavelength, the light pulses at a first wavelength (.lambda.1) passing through the sensor (4) and being coded, while the light pulses at a second wavelength (.lambda.2) are returned to the analyzer (7) to constitute pulses for triggering the sensor.

A system for transmitting optical information uses several transmitters and receivers connected by optical fibers. The transmitters and receivers are arranged in individual networks in each of which all the optical fibers leaving the transmitters are coupled to one another and all the optical fibers arriving at the receivers are coupled to one another. In addition, all the optical fibers leaving the transmitters in each individual network are interconnected to the corresponding optical fibers, i.e., those leaving the transmitters, in all the other networks.
