The barrel, which consists, inter alia, of a casing (10) defining a chamber (100), of a coverplate (20) with an orifice (21), of a hub (30) and of a spiral spring (40), comprises a device (50) for temporarily immobilizing the hub (30) in this chamber (100) which consists of male (51) and female (52) complementary elements which are intended to be engaged in each other and are carried by the base (11) of the casing and the hub (30), where these male elements (51) are fragile and are intended to break as a result of the action exerted upon the hub (30) through the orifice (21), once the spring has been tensioned.

The buckle intended to join a belt to an anchorage point consists, among other things, of a latch (10) and of a keeper which comprises a base (20), a lock (30), an ejector guide (40), an actuating button (50), preferably a protective covering (60) and, if necessary, a closure detector (80) and an illumination device (90). This buckle comprises operating and locking means (70) which cause the lock to cooperate with the button and with the base either to allow opening of the locked buckle when the latter is subjected to a tensile force less than a given limit or to ensure permanent locking of the locked buckle when the latter is subjected to a tensile force at least equal to a predetermined value and prevent opening thereof. Application to safety belts for automotive vehicles.

Simplified and improved safety-belt buckle

The buckle comprises a latch (10) interacting with a keeper consisting of a base (20), of an ejecting guide bolt (30), of an actuating button (50), of a protective casing (60) and of a securing connection (70), among other things. Means (40) having an insertion and retention system (301, 302, 303, 304), a safeguarding arrangement (410, 420) and a guide device (430, 440) make it possible to safeguard the locked latch in the keeper after it has been introduced into a channel (200) and a receptacle (300) which are oblique relative to one another. The invention is used on safety belts for motor vehicles.

The winder, which is more particularly of the type comprising a spring-biased tightener and is automatically locked under the control of an inertia unit, comprises a strap hub mounted on a base to be rotatable about its axis and movable in a direction perpendicular to the axis. This hub carries journals engaged in bearings (50) which are directly or indirectly connected to the base by at least one element (51) which is preferably in the form of a deformable and relatively elastic small bar. Application in safety belts for automobiles.

The barrel comprises a pre-stressed spiral spring which arms the barrel and further comprises a housing (100), a rotatable hub (200) and the spring (300) which is wound around the hub and anchored to the latter and to the housing. The barrel includes between the hub and the housing an anti-return device (400) which allows a relative rotation between the hub and the housing in only a single direction but is so arranged as to be movable between a first position in which it allows said relative rotation in only the single direction and a second position in which it allows rotation in both directions. The device is accessible from outside the housing for the purpose of shifting the device from one to the other of its positions. The barrel is particularly useful in ground motor vehicle safety belt winders.
