A method for estimating parameters of an object which is to be estimated in a digital image which represents real imaged content, comprising at least: a) an initial step comprising the production of a dictionary of content components and the production of a dictionary of object components, the content components and the object components having the same dimensions as the digital image; b) a step of establishing, at the same time, the magnitude of each of the content components of the dictionary of content components and of the object components of the dictionary of object components present in the digital image; c) a step of establishing, from the magnitude of each of the object components, the value of at least one parameter which characterizes the object to be estimated.

A method for correcting an image obtained by a matrix of photosensitive points finds particular utility when the matrix is subjected to an electromagnetic disturbance. The method of correction comprises a first step of row-by-row reading of the matrix. The signals read during a first reading of each row represent the charges accumulated subsequent to exposure of the matrix to luminous radiation and make it possible to form, for each column of the matrix, a discrete signal. The signals read during a second reading represent the charges accumulated in the absence of exposure and form, for each column of the matrix, a discrete signal. In a second step of the method, a signal corresponding substantially to the signal which would have been formed at the time of the first reading in the absence of exposure is determined. In a third step, the signal is subtracted column by column from the signal.

Method for correcting images obtained by an array of photosensitive points

The present invention relates to a method of processing images obtained from a photosensitive detector of the type notably produced by semiconductor material deposition techniques. The method consists in correcting an image acquired by the detector with a gain image. According to the invention, a temperature gain drift correction image is applied to the acquired image as a function of a temperature measured by the detector during the acquisition of the image. The invention also relates to a photosensitive detector in which the temperature gain drift correction means are included, independently of the gain image.

A device for attenuating stray capacitances in a liquid crystal and active matrix screen. The screen includes a substrate plate on one face of which there are deposited electrodes and thin film components controlling the electrodes. It also includes a back plate having one or more back-plate electrodes and covering the face of the substrate plate. A liquid crystal is contained between the electrode of the substrate plate and the back-plate electrodes. A ground plane forms an equipotential over the whole surface of the screen between the substrate plate and the thin films of the control components. The ground plane along with a film of insulating material forms a storage capacitance.

Active matrix display utilizing an embedded ground plane

The disclosed optical fiber sensor uses the effect of variation in the birefringence in a birefringent optical fiber as a function of the stresses and of the temperature. It has a linearly polarized, wide-spectrum source coupled to a polarizing-preserving single-mode optical fiber, along one of its neutral axes, devices capable of inducing coupling points being distributed along this fiber. A polarizer at 45.degree. with respect to the neutral axes of the fiber is placed at output of this sensor fiber. The output radiation is analyzed by spectroscopy, for example in a scanning Michelson interferometer associated with a detector. The detection by the interferometer enables the identification of the devices that are subjected to stresses. The same type of device may be used for the simultaneous detection of the stresses and/or the temperatures. The disclosed device can be applied notably to the monitoring and supervision of any installation in which strains have to be detected.

Optical fiber sensor

The network comprises several memory elements made of ferroelectric polymer, arranged in a matrix organization at the intersections of row and column electrodes. Each memory element (Mij) memorizes a synaptic coefficient a.sub.ij of the network which may be restored by pyroelectric effect on the corresponding column of the network. Amplifier circuits, respectively connected to the columns, give a voltage which is equal to the sum, to which a sign is assigned, of the products of the synaptic coefficients by the voltage components applied to each of the lines of the network.
