An aircraft air conditioning pack assembly including an air conditioning pack configured to discharge heat, and an exterior panel positioned in close proximity to the air conditioning pack. The exterior panel includes an opening defined therein, a first side facing towards the air conditioning pack, and a second side defining an exterior surface configured to be in communication with a free stream airflow. At least a portion of the air conditioning pack is disposed within the opening to facilitate transferring heat from the air conditioning pack to the free stream airflow.

Aircraft air conditioning pack assembly and method of assembling

A system for detecting a leak in a duct is disclosed, including a sheath covering a duct section, a fluid concentrating device and a sensor. The sheath is attached to a boundary portion of the duct section and forms an inner space between an outer surface of the duct section and the sheath. The fluid concentrating device has an opening through the sheath connecting the inner space to an external space outside the sheath. The inner space is sealed except for the opening through the sheath. The sensor is stationed outside the opening of the fluid concentrating device and is configured to detect fluid flow from the inner space through the opening at a level corresponding to a duct leak in a pre-burst condition.

Systems and methods for early detection of pneumatic transport element leaks

A duct manifold including a first duct, a second duct, and a coupling. The first duct includes a first duct body, a duct extension, and a first duct flange. The duct extension extends from the first duct body. The first duct flange is coupled to the duct extension, and the duct extension extends beyond the first duct flange such that a flange support is defined on an end of the duct extension. The second duct including a second duct body and a second duct flange coupled to the second duct body. The coupling is configured to couple the first duct to the second duct, wherein the second duct flange rests on the flange support when the coupling couples the first duct to the second duct.

System and method for a self-aligning duct

Methods and systems for protecting a duct joint are provided. An assembly for protecting a joint formed between a first duct and an adjacent second duct includes a first blanket member coupled about the first duct and a second blanket member coupled about the second duct, wherein the second blanket member extends from the first blanket member. The assembly also includes a continuous strap coupled to the first blanket member and to the second blanket member. The strap is configured to couple the first blanket member to the second blanket member such that a load path is provided from the second blanket member to the first blanket member during a duct burst event.

Systems and methods for duct protection

Methods and systems for protecting a duct joint are provided. An assembly for protecting a joint formed between a first duct and an adjacent second duct includes a first coupling element coupled about the first duct and a second coupling element coupled about the second duct. The assembly also includes a plurality of axial straps coupled between the first coupling element and the second coupling element such that each axial strap of the plurality of straps forms a loop that encircles a portion of each of the first coupling element and the second coupling element.
