The present invention is directed to an angle-bar arrangement for deflecting material webs on an angle-bar jacket ( ) which is provided with a plurality of air outlet openings ( ). Closing elements ( ), which seal off respective air outlet openings ( ), are movably accommodated in the angle-bar jacket ( ). Compressed air enters into the hollow space bounded by the movably accommodated closing elements ( ). The movable closing elements ( ), whose outer contour ( ) corresponds to the inner wall ( ) of the angle-bar jacket ( ), are driven independently of one another by actuators ( ).

Angle-bar arrangement for web-processing rotary presses

The method of adjusting a first longitudinal folding device for processing material webs with longitudinal adhesive bonding in a folder of a web-fed printing machine, wherein the first longitudinal folding device is movable relative to the folder, includes the steps of fixing the position of the former outlet rollers relative to a cylinder part of the folder. The method also includes the step of displacing a frame whereon spindles of the former outlet rollers are displaceably carried, thereby maintaining the distance of the web of material relative to the surfaces of the former outlet rollers. Another method step includes aligning an annular recess, centrally formed in the former outlet rollers, with an axis of the folder, for the purpose of applying the adhesive with regard to any width of material web to be processed.

Method of adjusting a longitudinal folding device in a folder of a web-fed printing machine

There is provided, in a folder for web-fed printing machines for processing webs of material with longitudinal adhesive bonding, a longitudinal folding device including a displaceable folder former movable relative to a cylinder part of the folder, and a frame carrying former outlet rollers and spindles whereon the former outlet rollers are mounted, the frame being displaceable with the longitudinal folding device; further provided is a method of adjusting the longitudinal adjusting device.

Longitudinal folding device in a folder of a web-fed printing machine, and method of adjustment

A turning bar for changing the direction of a running web or ribbon of paper exiting a printing press. The turning bar is defined by an axisymmetric cylindrical wall having two half surfaces, one half surface having air blow-holes distributed therealong. The turning bar includes a device for blocking the air blow-holes which includes a plurality of flexible membranes and a corresponding plurality of maneuvering handles. The flexible membranes have the shape of an axisymmetric cylindrical sleeve and are arranged inside the turning bar and distributed one after the other over the entire length of the turning bar. The maneuvering handles are arranged on the cylindrical half-surface opposite the blow holes of the turning bar, each maneuvering handle having one end disposed inside the axisymmetric cylindrical wall of the turning bar which is securely fastened to a flexible membrane allowing each flexible membrane to occupy two positions. One position is a blocking position in which the flexible membrane covers the entire cylindrical internal surface of the turning bar in a sealed fashion so as to block all the blow holes which are in the region of the membrane. The other position is a freeing position in which the flexible membrane is retracted and flattened against the cylindrical internal half-surface opposite the half surface having the blow holes so as to free the blow holes.
