The invention concerns a suspension thrust bearing for use with a suspension spring in an automotive suspension strut. The suspension thrust bearing provides a bearing with an annular upper part and a annular lower part in relative rotation one to the other, a lower support surface being provided by the lower part that axially supports an upper end of a suspension spring by the intermediate of a damping device made from resilient material. The resilient material of the damping device is molten in its preformed state with gas. After being molded, the molten material of the damping device provides an outer skinny layer and an inner foam body, the density of the outer skinny layer being strictly greater than the density of the inner foam body.

Suspension thrust bearing device

A suspension stop device provides an upper contact cap, a lower support cap and at least one bearing arranged between the caps. The upper contact cap provides a centering portion for a damper pad, inside which the pad, which is external to the device, is intended to be mounted. The centering portion extends axially inside a bore in the lower support cap.

A suspension bearing device, comprising: a bearing, a lower cup and an upper cup centered on a central axis. The lower cup having a body including a tubular axial portion and an annular outward radial portion. The lower cup is provided with a damper pad including: an inner portion disposed against the annular outward radial portion of the body; an outer portion for bearing a suspension spring; and an annular recess for receiving a creep of material of the damper pad when the outer portion is constrained by the suspension spring. A suspension thrust bearing including at least one rolling bearing forming an axial thrust bearing disposed on a lower cap is provided. The lower cap includes a body with an annular rolling bearing portion for a spring and a tubular portion including a bore in which a shock absorber bump stop is inserted. An axial contact surface is defined on the lower portion of the bore of the tubular portion against which the shock absorber bump stop when deformed exerts a radial force. The tubular portion includes a reinforcing insert located at the level of this axial contact surface.

The present invention relates to a suspension bearing device, comprising a rolling bearing forming an axial stop along a main axis and at least one seal adapted for protecting the rolling bearing from ingress of water or of polluting particles. The device is characterized in that it also comprises a bottom cup and a top cup made of plastic, in contact with the rolling bearing, the bottom cup forming a bearing means for a suspension spring, and in that the or each seal is made of thermoplastic overmolded onto a first element between the cups and comprises a base of substantially annular shape from which extends at least one sealing lip in contact with the second element between the cups. The invention also relates to a strut of a motor vehicle, comprising a damper and a suspension bearing device as mentioned above.

Suspension thrust bearing device and strut equiped with such a device

A suspension thrust bearing () including at least one rolling bearing () forming an axial thrust bearing disposed on a lower cap () is provided. The lower cap () includes a body () with an annular rolling bearing portion () for a spring () and a tubular portion () including a bore () in which a shock absorber bump stop () is inserted. An axial contact surface () is defined on the lower portion of the bore () of the tubular portion () against which the shock absorber bump stop () when deformed exerts a radial force (F). The tubular portion () includes a reinforcing insert () located at the level of this axial contact surface ().

The present invention concerns a suspension thrust bearing device adapted to receive a shock absorber piston rod along a main axis (X), the device including a single bearing forming an axial thrust bearing and including an inner race, an outer race and rolling members disposed between the inner race and the outer race, and at least one intermediate member adapted to transmit to the inner race essentially axial forces exerted on the device by a suspension spring. One of the inner race and the intermediate member extend(s) radially beyond the outer race in the direction of the main axis (X), forming a bearing surface for fixing and centering the shock absorber piston rod relative to the device. The invention also concerns a motor vehicle McPherson strut including a shock absorber and a suspension thrust bearing device as referred to above.
