The present invention relates to monoclonal antibodies that are distinguished by a high degree of selectivity and affinity towards herbicides from the group of the sulfonylureas, especially towards sulfonylurea herbicides of formula (A) ##STR1## wherein X is a mono- or di-substituted 6-membered heterocycle having from one to three nitrogen atoms and bonded via carbon, but is preferably mono- or di-substituted s-triazine or pyrimidine; and

The present invention relates to monoclonal antibodies which are distinguished by high selectivity and affinity for metolachlor and which are therefore outstandingly suitable for use in an immunoassay for the rapid and efficient detection of metolachlor. Another aspect of the present invention relates to hybridoma cell lines which produce said monoclonal antibodies and to immunological methods for detecting metolachlor in samples of soil, water or air using said monoclonal antibodies and to the test kits which can be used within the scope of these detection methods.

The invention concerns a process for the preparation of hybridoma cells which secrete monoclonal antibodies specific for hirudin, the hybridoma cells themselves, the monoclonal antibodies specific for hirudin secreted by these hybridoma cells, derivatives thereof, and a process for the preparation of said antibodies and derivatives. These monoclonal anti-hirudin antibodies and their derivatives are useful for the determination of hirudin and as an antidote to hirudin. The invention also concerns test kits and pharmaceutical compositions comprising said monoclonal antibodies and/or derivatives.
