A system for simulating brake feel for a vehicle braking installation comprising a hydraulic braking system () and an electric braking system (). This system comprises a first chamber () containing a force transmitting fluid () and in which there slides a hydraulic piston () under the control of a manual braking operating member (), the first chamber () communicating with a second, secondary simulation chamber () via a simulation valve (), the degree of opening of which allows a force to be simulated at the brake pedal.

Brake for a motor vehicle

A vehicle braking assembly comprising a master cylinder () with no central valves, a brake fluid reservoir () mounted separately from the master cylinder (), pumps () for pressurizing the brake fluid and first solenoid valves () in pipes () connecting the brake fluid reservoir () to the inlets of the pumps (). According to the invention, a calibrated orifice () and a nonreturn valve () which are connected in parallel are mounted in these pipes ().

Motor vehicle braking assembly

A braking device for a motor vehicle having a first brake circuit () with a master cylinder () controlled by a brake pedal (), a second brake circuit () with at least one pump () that is controlled by a computer (C), and a pedal travel simulation mechanism (). The simulation mechanism () includes a solenoid valve () that is mounted in a pipe () connected to a hydraulic fluid storage chamber () and controlled by the computer (C) so as to allow the brake fluid to flow toward the chamber () when the second brake circuit () is active and when the driver presses on the brake pedal. The pipe () is also connected to another pipe () in which hydraulic fluid is displaced by a first part () of a control rod connected to the brake pedal () and second part () associated with the master cylinder ().

Braking device for a motor vehicle

A calibration process for a pneumatic-assistance servomotor in a braking circuit of a motor vehicle. The values of the output pressure (Pmc) of a hydraulic master cylinder associated with the servomotor and of the negative pressure inside the working chamber of the servomotor are measured and recorded with respect to a given negative-pressure value (Pfc) inside a negative-pressure chamber of a servomotor for several operating points P, P, P, Pof the servomtotor. The operating points being located on either side of a saturation point to precisely determine the coordinates of the saturation point and thereby provide an accurate control of advanced functions of the servomotor with respect to braking operation, the braking assistance and/or the monitoring of the performance or of the ageing of the servomotor.

Calibration process for a servomotor

A pneumatic-hydraulic hybrid pneumatic brake booster is improved. Additional hydraulic boosting () provided by a hydraulic circuit is provided beyond a saturation point (Psat) in the operation of the pneumatic circuit. Hysteresis-induced instabilities in the pneumatic part of the booster are taken into consideration (). A choice is made to compensate (A) for the shortfall in operation of the pneumatic circuit using the hydraulic circuit. In one example, this correction is afforded via a microprocessor which imposes a corrected process signal. Using this signal, pressure shifts in the pneumatic system are neutralized.

Brake-booster with complementary hydraulic power-assist

A servobrake having a rigid jacket defined by a first shell joined to a second shell by through tie-bars to create variable volume front and rear chambers. The front chamber is permanently connected to a first pressure source whereas the rear chamber is selectively connected to the first pressure source and a second pressure source. The servobrake including a pressure sensor for the measurement of the pressure inside of the front and rear chambers. The pressure sensor is characterized by being attached to a front end of the through-tie bar whereas the tie-bar is characterized by a hollowed-out body with a hollow inner needle sealingly retained therein. The hollow inner needle defines a first chamber while a second chamber is defined by a space between the inner hollow needle and the hollowed-out body. The hollowed-out body has first ports therein for connecting the rear chamber with the first chamber through which pressure present in the rear chamber is transmitted to the pressure sensor. The hollowed-out body has second ports therein for connecting the front chamber with the second chamber through which pressure present in the front chamber is transmitted to the pressure chamber.
