A discharge lamp for a motor vehicle headlight is fed through a power supply device which includes a dc/ac converter. The power supplied to the dc/ac converter is modulated over time, preferably in a pseudo-random sequence. A power supply device adapted to perform this method is also described.

Reduced electronic noise power supply to discharge lamps, especially for motor vehicle headlights

The assembly has a metal sole plate forming a heat sink carrying a printed circuit card. The sole plate includes bearing surfaces which project slightly beyond the rest of the sole plate. The printed circuit is supported on these bearing surfaces and they include fixing means which interact with supplementary means of the printed circuit card to fix the printed circuit card onto the sole plate. A thermally conducting and electrically insulating material is interposed between the said card and the sole plate. The printed circuit card and the sole plate exert compression stress on the thermally conducting and electrically insulating material.

Electronic assemblies with a heat sink, especially for a control module of a motor-vehicle headlight discharge lamp

A power supply system for an automobile vehicle headlight discharge lamp, the system including a DC/DC converter with a capacitor at its output, a DC/AC converter powered by the voltage across said capacitor, and a module for generating a high-voltage breakdown pulse designed to be connected in series with said discharge lamp to the output of the DC/AC converter, wherein it further includes a module for heating the electrodes of the discharge lamp design to be connected in series with the discharge lamp and the high-voltage pulse generator module and adapted to deliver, after the high-voltage breakdown pulse, a decreasing voltage which, at the terminals of said discharge lamp, is added to the voltage across the capacitor at the output of the DC/DC converter.
