A shunt tube entry device comprises one or more inlet ports, a shroud disposed at least partially about a wellbore tubular, and a shunt tube in fluid communication with the chamber. The shroud defines a chamber between the shroud and the wellbore tubular, and the chamber is in fluid communication with the one or more entry ports.

A downhole assembly is disclosed. The downhole assembly includes a tube disposed in a wellbore, and a shroud coupled to and disposed around the circumference of the tube to form an annulus between an inner surface of the shroud and an outer surface of the tube. The downhole assembly further includes a flow control device disposed in the annulus, and a degradable plug disposed in the annulus and positioned to prevent fluid flow between the annulus and the tube.

A flow control device includes an annular inner shroud coupled to a work string that defines one or more flow ports therein, and an annular outer shroud also coupled to the work string and radially offset from the inner shroud such that a channel is defined between at least a portion of the inner and outer shrouds. The channel is in fluid communication with at least one of the one or more flow ports and configured to restrict a flow rate of a fluid. The work string has a central axis and the inner and outer shrouds extend longitudinally within the work string.

Annular flow control devices and methods of use

A jumper tube for use with a shunt tube assembly comprises a first tubular member configured to engage a first shunt tube, a second tubular member axially disposed within the first tubular member, and a locking member configured to prevent the second tubular member from axially displacing into the first tubular member. The second tubular member is configured to slidingly engage within the first tubular member, and the second tubular member is configured to engage a second shunt tube.

Techniques for controlling flow of a wellbore fluid include positioning a plurality of inflow control assemblies on a pipe joint in a wellbore, the pipe joint including a proximal end engageable with a first downhole tool and a distal end engageable with a second downhole tool; receiving a flow of a wellbore fluid from a subterranean zone to an inlet of at least one inflow control device (ICD), the at least one ICD mounted in each of the plurality of inflow control assemblies, the flow at a velocity that is less than the transport velocity of fines in the wellbore fluid; and transmitting the flow of the wellbore fluid to the pipe joint from the ICDs to an interior of the pipe joint.

Controlling flow in a wellbore

Described herein are gravel pack assemblies capable of performing complete gravel pack jobs when flow restricting devices, such as inflow control devices ('ICD'), are utilized. A gravel pack assembly includes a well screen attached to a flow restricting device and a relief valve. The relief valve is positioned in parallel with the flow restricting device so that the relief valve may provide an alternative path for fluid during dehydration of the gravel pack slurry, thus allowing extra fluid flow through the completion string during the gravel pack operation only.

A gravel packing apparatus has first and second joints each including a sand control screen assembly a slurry delivery subassembly positioned exteriorly of the sand control screen assembly. Each slurry delivery subassembly includes a transport tube extending longitudinally along the sand control screen assembly. A jumper tube extends between and is sealably coupled to the transport tube of the first joint and the transport tube of the second joint. A first locking assembly is operably coupled between the jumper tube and the transport tube of the first joint and a second locking assembly is operably coupled between the jumper tube and the transport tube of the second joint.

A production sleeve assembly for use downhole includes a fluid pathway configured to provide fluid communication between an exterior of a wellbore tubular and an interior of the wellbore tubular through a chamber, a flow restriction disposed in the fluid pathway, and a valve disposed in series with the flow restriction in the fluid pathway. The valve comprises a rupture disk, and a plug releasably engaged in the chamber in series with the rupture disk. The valve is configured to allow production from the exterior of the wellbore tubular to the interior of the wellbore tubular through the chamber once the rupture disk is actuated, and the valve is configured to release the plug from the chamber when the rupture disk is actuated and the pressure within the exterior of the wellbore tubular is greater than the pressure within the interior of the wellbore tubular.

Disclosed are wellbore flow control devices that allow on-site field adjustments to flow characteristics. One autonomous inflow control device (AICD) assembly includes a base pipe defining one or more flow ports and an interior, a first end ring and a second end ring each arranged about the base pipe, the second end ring being axially-offset from the first end ring such that a fluid compartment is defined therebetween, an AICD arranged within the fluid compartment and having at least one fluid inlet and an outlet configured to be in fluid communication with one of the one or more flow ports, and a flow ring arranged about the base pipe and in fluid communication with the AICD, the flow ring being operable to regulate a fluid flow into the interior of the base pipe and being accessible and manipulatable by a well operator on-site.

A production sleeve assembly for use in a wellbore comprises a wellbore tubular, a plurality of fluid pathways configured to provide fluid communication within the downhole component, a plurality of electronic actuators configured to selectively provide fluid communication through one or more of the plurality of fluid pathways, and at least one sensor coupled to the plurality of electronic actuators. One or more of the plurality of electronic actuators are configured to selectively actuate to allow or prevent fluid flow through a corresponding fluid pathway of the plurality of fluid pathways in response to the at least one sensor receiving a suitable signal.

Disclosed are wellbore flow control devices that allow on-site field adjustments to flow characteristics. One autonomous inflow control device (AICD) assembly includes a housing arranged about a base pipe that defines at least one flow port and an interior, the housing defining a fluid compartment in fluid communication with the at least one flow port, an AICD arranged in the fluid compartment and having at least one fluid inlet and an outlet in fluid communication with the at least one flow port, a shroud coupled to the housing and covering the fluid compartment, and a crimping tool arrangeable about the housing and the shroud and having a profile defined thereon, the profile being configured to engage and plastically deform the shroud in order to fluidly isolate the AICD.

A downhole well screen has a base pipe with a filter mounted thereon with the filter comprising plurality of spaced layers including a screen layer. A longitudinally extending channel is formed in the well screen by plastically deforming the filter. The channel is selected to be of a size and shape to accommodate well control lines.

A gravel packing apparatus has first and second joints each including a sand control screen assembly having a filter medium positioned exteriorly of a base pipe and a slurry delivery subassembly positioned exteriorly of the sand control screen assembly. Each slurry delivery subassembly includes a transport tube extending longitudinally along at least a portion of the sand control screen assembly. A jumper tube extends between and is sealably coupled to the transport tube of the first joint and the transport tube of the second joint. A first locking assembly is positioned between the jumper tube and the transport tube of the first joint and a second locking assembly is positioned between the jumper tube and the transport tube of the second joint.
