A well screen assembly residing in a well bore has a base pipe and a filtration screen carried on the base pipe. The screen is radially extended with force from fluid while maintaining the base pipe radially unextended.

Embodiments herein include an assembly comprising a base pipe having at least one flow port defined therein; a well screen arranged about the base pipe and in fluid communication with the at least one flow port, the well screen having an end disposed at or near the at least one flow port; a shroud arranged about the end of the well screen and extending axially along a length of the well screen; and an annular gap defined between the well screen and the shroud and configured to receive a flow of a fluid, wherein the shroud increases a flow resistance of the fluid by channeling the fluid across the annular gap to distribute a flow energy of the fluid over the length of the well screen.

A system for coupling a shunt tube of a first screen assembly to a shunt tube of a second screen assembly includes an elongate jumper tube and a misalignment joint. The misalignment joint has a first end coupled to the jumper tube. The first end is moveable relative to a second end of the misalignment joint.

A well screen assembly includes an elongate base pipe, a shroud layer about the base pipe, and a mesh layer between the shroud layer and the base pipe. A portion of the mesh layer overlaps another portion of the mesh layer to form an area of overlap. A spine is positioned proximate substantially an entire length of the area of overlap, and transmits a force from the shroud layer to the mesh layer that compresses and seals the area of overlap against passage of particulate.

Securing layers in a well screen assembly

A wellbore subassembly includes a device having a production flow path toward a production tubing. The production flow path can include a superhydrophobic coating for restricting the production of an unwanted fluid towards the production tubing.

Superhydrophic flow control device

An in-well type production device includes a tubing having a center bore. A valve is carried by the tubing and configured to control flow between the center bore and an exterior of the tubing. An electronic controller is carried by the tubing and is in communication with the valve. The controller has a timer and is configured to operate the valve after a specified time period.

Time delay well flow control

A well screen assembly includes a valve configured to control flow between the interior and exterior of the well screen assembly, and in certain instances control flow through a flow control device (e.g., inflow control device and/or other). The valve can be operated in response to a signal detected by an in-well sensor.

Well fluid exchange flow control

An expandable well screen can include a filter section which is displaced outward when the well screen is positioned downhole, the filter section including an outer surface that is recessed relative to a raised boundary of the filter section adjacent the recessed outer surface. Another filter section can include an outer surface having one more structures thereon which space the outer surface away from a well surface when the filter section is displaced outward. Another filter section can include one or more structures on an interior thereof which space apart inner and outer sides of a wall of the filter section, a telescoping tubular connector which provides fluid communication between the filter section and a base pipe of the well screen, and a filter media being positioned in the tubular connector.

Disclosed are wellbore flow control devices that allow on-site field adjustments to flow characteristics. One autonomous inflow control device (AICD) assembly includes a base pipe defining one or more flow ports and an interior, at least one AICD arranged on the base pipe and having at least one fluid inlet and an outlet in fluid communication with one of the one or more flow ports, and a plug configured to be arranged in at least one of the at least one fluid inlet and the outlet of the at least one AICD by a well operator on-site.

Internal adjustments to autonomous inflow control devices

An assembly for restricting fluid flow into a completion string of a well and restricting fluids based on one or more fluid characteristics is presented. The assembly includes an adjustable inflow control device. The adjustable inflow control device is for restricting flow of production fluids into the completion string. The assembly also includes a first autonomous inflow control device fluidly coupled to the inflow control device for restricting fluids based on one or more fluid characteristics. Adjustable flow control assemblies, systems, and methods

Disclosed are check valve assemblies operable to inject treatment fluids during stimulation operations. One check valve assembly includes a valve body defining an inlet, one or more discharge ports, and a cylindrical passageway that fluidly communicates the inlet with the one or more discharge ports, the valve body further providing a cylindrical section in which the one or more discharge ports are defined, a valve cap disposed about an exterior of the cylindrical section and defining an opening that fluidly communicates with the cylindrical passageway, and a spherical piston disposed within the passageway and movable between a closed configuration, where the spherical piston prevents fluid communication between the inlet and the one or more discharge ports, and an open configuration, where fluid communication is allowed between the inlet and the one or more discharge ports.

Check valve for well stimulation

Certain aspects of the present invention are directed to a distributed inflow control device that can be disposed in a wellbore through a fluid-producing formation. The distributed inflow control includes a shroud that can be disposed in the fluid-producing formation. The shroud circumferentially covers a section of a tubing string. The shroud includes a profile having multiple flow paths between the fluid-producing formation and an inner volume of the section of the tubing string. Each flow path restricts a fluid flow through the flow path and is independent of each other flow path. The distributed inflow control device also includes a seal over the profile including the flow paths. The seal causes fluid to flow from an inlet to an outlet of each flow path and prevents fluid from entering or exiting each flow path at a point other than the respective inlet or the respective outlet.

Distributed inflow control device

An inflow control assembly can be adjusted subsequent to manufacture and prior to being run downhole in a wellbore. The inflow control assembly can include an outer body and a chamber internal to the outer body. The chamber can define a flow path for fluid flow through the inflow control assembly when the inflow control assembly is in a wellbore traversing a subterranean formation. The flow path is injectable with a pre-determined volume of material from a source external to the outer body for reducing fluid flow through the flow path.

Injectable inflow control assemblies

Systems for simultaneously injecting and producing in a well having multiple zones. One system includes a wellbore providing first perforations extending into a first subterranean formation and second perforations extending into a second subterranean formation, a production tubing having influx ports defined therein and an annulus defined between the wellbore and the production tubing, first and second pairs of wellbore isolation devices arranged about the production tubing and axially straddling the first and second perforations to define first and second formation zones, respectively, a first bypass conduit extending between the first pair of wellbore isolation devices, a second bypass conduit extending between the second pair of wellbore isolation devices, and an injection outlet defined on the first bypass conduit for injecting a portion of the fluid into the first subterranean formation and push hydrocarbons toward the second formation zone to be produced.
