The invention relates to a securing device to be screwed in having an attachment lug equipped with a movable fixing means designed to prevent any twisting effect of the quickdraw when rotation of the ice peg takes place. The fixing means is formed by a cylindrical stud mounted rotating freely on a spindle securedly affixed to the attachment lug. The stud acts as operating handle for driving the securing device in rotation whereas the quickdraw remains permanently attached to the lug.

A roping sit harness comprises a securing belt joined to a pair of leg loops by an intermediate part. The pair of leg loops and the intermediate part are manufactured from a synthetic fabric stuffed with a padding foam to form a single semi-rigid part. The front part of each leg loop is attached without discontinuity to the joining strap by a triangular distributor joining part arranged to balance the forces applied to said monoblock part. The harness is suitable for many applications such as climbing, mountaineering, caving, pot-holing and/or working at heights.

A roping harness comprises a sit harness, a pair of shoulder straps fixed to the front and rear of the belt, and an offset attachment strip formed by an auxiliary extension strap. The attachment strip has a first fixing end securedly affixed to the front of the harness, and a second attachment end located at the rear of the harness, said strip being superposed on one of the shoulder straps by a detachable retaining part able to be in a secured contact position or in a released position depending on whether the tensile force exerted on the attachment strip is lower than or greater than a preset threshold, movement from the secured contact position to the released position taking place following a fall or by a manual operation causing separation of the second end of the shoulder strap and transfer movement of the attachment strip to the front.

An energy absorbing device for a safety device with a rope, comprises a metal body equipped with a first orifice of ellipsoidal shape allowing two strands of rope to cross without clearance, and a second reverse V-shaped orifice of decreasing cross-section in the direction of the first orifice. The second orifice has a portion of reduced width of a smaller dimension than the diameter of the rope, and two convergent edges for centering the rope when the turn is tightened during sliding. The lanyard may be used for rock-climbing, or for working at heights.

A self-locking descender for a rope comprises a pulley in the form of a rotary cam designed to press the rope against a braking surface of a stud. The pulley is mounted on an operating plate associated with an operating handle. To reduce the unlocking force on the operating lever, a part of the friction forces is taken up by a load-shedding pin situated facing the circular sector of the cam. The rope passes via the load-shedding pin and comes partially into contact with the pulley.

A sewn attachment loop for a flexible rope used for rock-climbing, or working at heights, is formed by a short first portion of rope, securedly affixed to an extended second portion of rope by a seam. The seam presents a dissymmetric structure in the non-taut state allowing a homogeneous distribution of the mechanical stresses in the joining strands when the loop is tensed to the taut state. The stitches situated along the first portion of rope extend in the non-taut state of the rope according to a longitudinal staggering greater than that assigned to the stitches of the second portion of rope, the variation of the staggering of said stitches causing a progressive inclination of the joining strands along the seam.

The invention relates to a self-locking descender wherein the pulley in the form of a cam is equipped with a drive finger cooperating with a mechanism having a transmission rod movable between an active engagement position with the finger to establish a unidirectional mechanical link between the handle and cam when the handle is actuated to an intermediate unlocking position in the course of the descending movement, and an inactive escape position to break said mechanical link after the intermediate position of the handle has been passed, causing disengagement of the pulley and automatic return of the cam to the locking position due to the action of the tension of the rope. The locking effect of the rope is thus preserved after disengagement, without maintaining a force on the handle.

A safety helmet with a crown comprises a head-band with a strip adjustable by means of a first mechanism with inverter pinion cooperating with a first crown-wheel and a second crown-wheel located at the two opposite ends of the strip. An operating ring is accessible from outside to perform adjustment with one hand when the helmet is on the user's head. The double crown-wheel is arranged on the side of the crown and enables perfect centering to be achieved regardless of the size of the head-band. Application: potholing, mountaineering, construction sites, etc.
