The present invention relates to a polymeric composition suitable for watercrafts or nautical applications. The present invention relates also the use of a transparent polymeric composition for watercrafts. More particularly the present invention relates to a transparent (meth)acrylic polymer composition and relates also to a process for preparing such a (meth)acrylic polymer composition, its use in watercrafts and watercraft comprising it.

The present invention relates to a (meth)acrylic polymer composition. In particular the present invention it relates to polymeric composition suitable for security glazing. The invention also relates to a process for manufacturing such a polymeric composition suitable for security glazing. More particularly the present invention relates to a bullet resistant (meth)acrylic polymer composition and relates also to a process for preparing such a bullet resistant (meth)acrylic polymer composition and its use in glazing.

The present invention relates to photobioreactors and more particularly to the use of a transparent composition based on at least one methacrylic polymer for constructing installations for the culture of photosensitive organisms. This composition can be in the form of films, plates, profiled elements or cylinders such as tubes. The invention also relates to a transparent multilayer structure comprising at least one layer of a methacrylic polymer and one layer comprising at least one antifouling additive, and to the use thereof for constructing installations for the culture of photosensitive organisms.

Use of a transparent composition for photobioreactors

The subject of the present invention is a semi-rigid or flexible and low-gloss impact-reinforced acrylic material. The acrylic material according to the invention comprises a nanostructured matrix constituted of at least one thermoplastic acrylic block copolymer and at least one highly crosslinked acrylic copolymer. The matrix comprises at least one thermoplastic acrylic block copolymer. The highly crosslinked acrylic copolymer comprises, as sole monomer or as predominate monomer, MMA, that is to say that it comprises, by weight, more than 50%, advantageously more than 65% of MMA. The acrylic material according to the invention comprises from 60% to 99% by weight of matrix for 40% to 1% by weight of crosslinked copolymer. These materials may be converted by injection molding, extrusion, co-extrusion, extrusion-blow molding for producing parts, profiles, sheets or films for example.

The invention concerns a method for preparing a composition comprising a vinylaromatic polymer enclosing rubber nodules. The invention is characterised in that it includes a step for polymerising at least one vinylaromatic monomer in the presence of rubber, a polymerisation initiator and a stable free radical, said step being such that &lsqb;F &times;(SFR)&rsqb;: &lsqb;F &times;(AMO)&rsqb; range from 0.05 to 1, F and F representing the functionality of the stable free radical and the initiator respectively and (SFR) and (AMO) representing the molar quantities of the stable free radical and the initiator respectively, The final composition is particularly resistant to shock and/or shiny.

The invention relates to a process for preparing a composition comprising a vinylaromatic polymer matrix and particles of rubber, which comprises a step of polymerizing at least one vinylaromatic monomer in the presence of a rubber comprising a group which generates a stable free radical. The process makes it possible to obtain morphologies other than salami morphologies, such as the labyrinth, onion or capsule morphology, with the aim, for example, of enhancing the gloss of the high-impact vinylaromatic polymer.
