A brake motor subassembly comprises a control piston (10) having an internal cavity delimited by a base wall (18) and, at the periphery, by a stepped bore (20, 22, 24) and having a mechanical actuating device acting on the control piston via an automatic compensation device formed by a screw-nut device (34) stressed towards the base wall, via a washer (26) and an axial thrust ball bearing (32), by a resilient member (28) supported on a ring (30) fixed at the end of the control piston axially opposite the base wall, and a pilot piston (44) having a first cylindrical peripheral surface of larger diameter (46) sealingly slideably cooperating with an end of reduced diameter (20) of the stepped bore and, in the vicinity of its end (50) axially opposite to the first peripheral surface (46) and cooperating with the washer (26), a second peripheral surface of reduced diameter (54) sealingly slideably cooperating with an annular seal (38) associated with a retaining washer (40) resting axially against a shoulder (42) extending radially towards the interior between the end portion of smaller diameter (20) and the intermediate portion (22) of the stepped bore in which the annular seal (38) is mounted, the pilot piston (44) being stressed towards the base wall (18) by the resilient member (28) via the washer (26). A mechanism is provided for adjusting the stress exerted by the resilient member (28) on the pilot piston (44) to a predetermined value.

Brake motor subassembly and process for adjusting such a subassembly

The invention relates to a safety device for disc brakes. The purpose of the device is to prevent the accidental disassembly of a column forming part of a sliding-caliper disc brake. A cap 51 is rotatably coupled with the head of a bolt 48 forming part of the column and screwed onto a stationary support. The cap has a skirt 59 with a cutout 60 in the shape of an arc of a circle, bounded by stops 50, 50'. In the case of accidental unscrewing of the bolt, one of the stops 50, 50' comes to rest against a stationary part 24 of the brake to prevent further unscrewing. Application to the braking of motor vehicles.

The brake motor subassembly with automatic play compensation limitation by way of a stepped pilot piston (20), comprising a first cylindrical peripheral surface of larger diameter (21) sliding in an inner bore (7) of the control piston (1) and a second cylindrical peripheral surface of reduced diameter (24) interacting sealingly slideably with an annular gasket (17) in the piston (1), has an intermediate radial shoulder (26) which, during the movement of the pilot piston (20) because of the opposing effective cross-sections (s.sub.1, s.sub.2), interacts with the annular gasket (17) so as thereby to present a new effective surface (s.sub.3) preventing the continuation of the movement of the pilot piston (20) and thus avoiding the compression of the elastic member (11) which normally stresses the automatic compensation nut (14).

Process for the regeneration of synchronizing signals used for writing and/or reading recorded digital data or for recording on an optical data carrier, wherein the synchronizing signals are regenerated in phase by determining the phase shift of the center of specific pulses with respect to a clock signal. According to a preferred variant, the specific data and the useful information data are coded by a N.R.Z-type code, the specific data being associated with pulse durations not used in the N.R.Z. code for recording information data. The specific data can be recorded in time multiplexing with digital information data or, according to a preferred variant, in the form of flags at regularly spaced locations on the tracks which define between them zones intended for the recording of data blocks. The recording of these flags can take place prior to any recording of digital information data in preetched form. The synchronizing signals regenerated on the basis of the reading of these flags can then also be used for writing during the information data recording phases.

The invention relates to a disc brake with automatic adjustment, of the type incorporating a calliper (10), a brake actuator (12) which is adapted to act directly upon a first friction component (14) and, by reaction through the calliper (10) upon a second friction component (16). The brake actuator (12) incorporates a mechanical control (32) acting upon a hydraulic control piston (20) through an automatic adjustment device, the latter being formed by a screw and nut device (46, 60) with reversible pitch which is actuatable by the hydraulic piston (20) beyond a predetermined travel of the latter which is defined by a clearance between an annular component (82) and a thrust bearing (92) which is adapted to act upon the screw and nut device (46, 60), the clearance being capable of varying as a function of the pressure applied to the control piston (20). According to the invention, the annular component (82) is movable axially relative to the control piston (20) by means of a monitoring piston (64) when a predetermined control pressure is reached.

A process and device for focussing a light energy beam on a data carrier comprising sites fromed of virgin areas free from any data recording provided along tracks and serving as reference plane for said focussing. In a preferred variation, these areas are preceded by flags associated with a specific code. Control is achieved by measuring the deviation between the plane of focussing of a beam into a spot scanning the tracks and the reference plane formed by the surface of the virgin areas. Between two passages of these areas of the measurements are stored. The focussing error signal is obtained by filtering these measurements.

Assembly component (56) for a disc brake of the type incorporating a calliper (10) sliding on a fixed support (16) by way of two axial pillars (12, 14) each incorporating, firstly, a cylindrical sleeve (42), and secondly, a removable portion (40) one end of which (48) incorporates a thread which is capable of fixing the pillar (12, 14) to the fixed support (16), and whose other end (52) is capable of being pushed in rotation by a suitable mounting tool. The subject of the invention is a disk brake with automatic adjustment of the type incorporating a sliding calliper (10), a brake actuator (12) acting directly upon a first friction component (14) and, by reaction through the calliper (10), upon a second friction component (16), the brake actuator (12) incorporating a mechanical control (32) acting upon a hydraulic control piston (20) through an automatic adjustment device. The automatic adjustment device consists of a screw and nut system (46-60) of reversible pitch which is capable of being actuated by the hydraulic piston (20) beyond a predetermined travel of the latter, the adjustment device incorporating an annular component (76), firmly fixed in rotation to the nut and co-operating with a control piston (64), immobilizing the annular component (76) in rotation when the hydraulic pressure acting upon the hydraulic control piston (20) reaches a predetermined value. According to the invention, the hydraulic piston (20) and the control piston (64) are coaxially mounted one inside the other, and co-operate in sealed reversible sliding thus allowing the hydraulic piston (20) to be dismantled as a unit from the control piston (64), from the annular component (76) and from the nut (60).
