An assembly including an implantable part designed to be fastened to at least one bone or bone portions to be joined and at least one screw for fastening the implantable part to the at least one bone or bone portions. The implantable part includes at least one tapped hole and the screw includes a head designed to be engaged in the tapped hole. The tapped hole is cylindrical and includes at least one radial notch emerging in a surface of the implantable part through which the screw is designed to be engaged in the tapped hole. The radial notch produces an interruption in the tapping included by the tapped hole. The head of the screw is conical, with an apical angle of between 15 and 25&#xb0;.

The implant includes two side walls resting against the vertebral end-plates and an intermediate wall joining the supporting walls. The implant can be deformed for insertion between the vertebrae to be treated to restore the attenuated mobility of the vertebrae, and includes mounting elements mounting on the vertebrae. The side walls have a curved shape, whose convexity is oriented towards the outside of the implant; the intermediate wall has a curved shape, whose convexity is oriented towards the outside of the implant such that it does not form any pronounced angles with the supporting side walls. The supporting side walls and the intermediate wall, have a partially oval shape; and the mounting elements are configured such that the implant can be mounted on the vertebrae.

A vertebral osteosynthesis device employs outside faces of lateral walls of each hooking element which are inclined toward each other such that they converge from the side opposite hooking elements designed to be attached to the bone, while a gripping element in the shape of a clamp has side arms with inside faces inclined at slopes that match those of outside faces of lateral walls. At least two gripping means are disposed beyond the lateral walls and are provided to move the gripping element such that the inside faces of its lateral arms abut the lateral walls, bringing them toward each other and sliding on them upon gripping, to bring the lateral walls closer together to lock each hooking element onto a support rod.
