Connector includes a housing member to which is articulated a locking lever having a holding bar held in a locked position by a latch. An abutment is provided against which the corresponding edge of the lever bears in the locked position. This edge is in the form of an elastic tongue.

Connector having a locking lever

A system is provided for polarizing electrical connectors of generally parallelepipedal shape and of the type having a male housing part adapted to be inserted in a skirt of a female housing part, one of these parts having along one wall at least one longitudinal tongue and the other of these parts having at least one corresponding groove which receives the tongue when the male housing part is fitted into the skirt of the female housing part. The free end of the tongue terminates in a bevel, the free edge of the skirt terminates in a corresponding bevel and the bevels on the tongue and on the free edge of the skirt are oriented so that, if the male housing part is not offered up in the correct position for insertion into the skirt, the bevels bear one against the other and tend to close up the opening of the skirt.

Polarizing system for electrical connectors

Device for coupling two electrical connector housing members includes two toothed sectors on one member, each sector including a slot leading to a cam. The cams cooperate with two lugs on the other member. The sectors are rotated to occupy either an open first position or a locked second position.

Device for coupling two electrical connector housing members

An electrical connector includes a locking key having branches that slide in a female housing member. The branches include ramps to receive studs on a male housing member. The edge of the branches includes a strip with a lug engaged in an opening in the member which has a tongue with a protuberance on it to immobilize the lug in the opening when the key is in a ready position and which can be retracted when the key is pushed towards a locked position.

Electrical connectors

An electrical connector housing element includes passages each receiving an electrical contact and a system for locking them. The passages are in two series each comprising two rows. The locking system includes two keys in a head-to-tail arrangement and each of which is U-shape with two branches and a core. Each key is mounted so that one of its branches lies between the branches of the other key. Inclined guides are provided in a groove whereby each key can move in the groove in two perpendicular directions. In a locking position the two branches of the first key immobilize the electrical contacts of the two first rows of the two series of passages. In the locking position the two branches of the second key immobilize the electrical contacts of the two second rows of the two series of passages.

Electrical connector housing element

Female electric contact member includes a first part having crimping lugs at one end extended by a profiled part in turn extended by a body ending in two elastic bars which form a clamp for gripping a corresponding male electric contact. A complementary part fixed to the body includes two elastic bars to strengthen the elastic action of the bars. The body of the first part has a circular cross-section, the complementary part having a corresponding circular cross-section and, along each of two opposite edges which are contiguous after bending, a lug adapted to be inserted in a slot in the body of the first part and a cut-out lug at an intermediate point of its surface which is inserted in a slot of the first part.

Female electric contact member and electric connector casing element

Electrical connector assembly comprising a first housing member and a second housing member complementary to the first housing member, the second housing member having a series of passages in each of which a female electrical contact member is inserted. The first housing member includes a series of passages each adapted to receive a male electrical contact member, with the male electrical contact member having a contact part adapted to be inserted into a corresponding female contact member of the second housing member, a body including notches and elements for fixing an electrical conductor. The first housing member includes a face and a second projection on the face adapted to face towards the second housing member. The locking key is mounted on the first housing member on the side of the face adapted to face towards the second complementary housing member and includes a series of slots through which the contact parts of the male electrical contact members and an inclined resilient strip pass and near which an opening is provided for the second projection. The second housing member is provided with a housing adapted to receive the second projection, and the resilient strip is mounted so that in the pre-locked position of the key the resilient strip opposes engagement of the second projection in the housing whereas in the locked position of the key the second projection cooperates with the resilient strip to retract the resilient strip so that the second projection can be engaged to assemble the housing members.

Female electrical contact member is made from a metal blank cut out and bent to shape so that it has at one end electrical conductor fixing elements and at the other end a rectangular section passage having a bottom wall, a top wall and two side walls from which are cut out elastic bars bent towards the interior of the passage to constitute a clamp adapted to grip a male tongue inserted through an insertion opening of the passage. The free ends of the bars face towards the insertion opening. The elastic action of the bars is strengthened by bracing bars of an attached, initially separate member cooperating with the elastic bars. The attached member comprises two plates fixed against the side walls and from which the bracing bars are cut out.

Female electrical contact member

Electrical connector casings comprising a female casing member and a male casing member the male casing member, wherein includes an inclined elastic bar fastened at a point partway along its length to an abutment and the female casing member has a passage adapted to receive the elastic bar. Partway along the length of this passage is a projection on the path of the abutment and having, on the side facing the opening of the female casing member, a steep edge joining at right angles to a part joining at right angles a .retaining steep edge which, with the abutment, locks the two casing members together.

Electrical connector casings

A female electrical contact member has at one end crimping lugs and at the other end a rectangular cross-section receptacle with a floor wall and a ceiling wall. The floor wall is extended and bent towards the inside of the receptacle to form a spring strip. A male tab inserted into the receptacle is therefore clamped between this strip and the ceiling wall. A cut-out bar in the floor wall is bent so that it extends under the spring strip and cooperates with the latter.

Device for electrically connecting two conductors is provided with a first U-shaped electrical connection component with a base part and two sides, each side incorporating a slot widening at its part opening onto its free end. One of the sides comprising, close to the base part, a connecting band extending substantially perpendicularly to the edge of the side and integral with one of the sides of a second U-shaped electrical connection component with a base part and a second side, the sides of the second connection component incorporating slots widening at their part opening onto their free edge, the connecting band being bent so that the two components are substantially perpendicular to each other and the free edges of the sides of one of the components extending in a direction opposite to that in which the free edges of the sides of the other component extend.

Branch connector for electrically connecting two electrical conductors

Male electrical contact member for connection to a complementary electrical connector shell, which includes a connector shell which is shaped to receive an insulative material block having a heel-piece and at least one projection. The heel-piece includes at least one passage for a folded conductor fixed to the projection. The connector shell further includes elements for locking the heel-piece into the housing and at least one aperture through which the projection covered with the conductor may pass.

Male electrical contact member and complementary electrical connector

An electrical connector housing comprises a male housing member, a corresponding female housing member and a skirt on the female housing member adapted to receive an anterior end of the male housing member. Channels in the male and female housing members are adapted to receive respective electrical contact members. Means for locking the male and female housing members together when the anterior end of the male housing member is inserted into the skirt comprise a resilient bar having two feet joined to the male housing member near its anterior end, an operating member at its free end and first locking members. The skirt comprises second locking members adapted to cooperate with the first locking members and a protuberance on its inside surface. The resilient bar further comprises a projection adapted to cooperate with this protuberance and having a first ramp inclined so that insertion of the male housing member into the skirt requires an additional force to allow the first ramp to pass by virtue of resilient deformation of the bar, a second ramp and an edge between the first and second ramps. When the protuberance has passed over the edge during insertion of the male housing member into the skirt, the second ramp tends to facilitate further insertion.
