The invention concerns a perforating munition for targets possessing high mechanical strength. A perforating munition, released at very low altitude to prevent destruction by ground-air defense systems, possesses a braking system constituted by a parachute (24) to give the velocity vector of the munition a position that is as close as possible to the vertical, thus enabling an improvement in the effectiveness of the munition on impact. To improve the positioning of the velocity vector with respect to the vertical, the munition has a curvature correction device comprising a back projector (13) that is fixedly joined to the rear part (2) of the munition and is positioned in a ring-like way around a front part (1) of the munition, so as to reduce the curvature of the munition in order to increase the effectiveness of the munition.

Disclosed is a new type of penetrating projectile, the penetrating capacity of which is improved and more efficiently controlled, notably through a solution to the problems of obliquity. A projectile of this type has a front element forming the active part, fixedly joined to a tube. The tube has a closed end which contains a propellant charge for the propulsion of the element and an igniter for the charge, responding to the impact of the element on a target. In reaching the target, the projectile penetrates it slightly under the effect of the velocity and it is only at this instant, or slightly after it, that the penetration proper takes place. The penetration thus takes place without obliquity. This projectile can be used as an individual munition or sub-munition.

Penetrative projectiles

The invention concerns a device designed to modify the trajectory of a projectile by pyrotechnical thrusters, formed by several solid propellant thrusters arranged transversally on a cylindrical support. The combustion chambers, instead of having a cylindrical shape, are parallelepiped shaped. They contain propellant loads which are gone through by a rod connecting a streamlined to the support. The streamlined and the support are cut up to realize nozzles which allow the ejection of gas, the gas coming from the combustion of the propellant load. Thus for a given thickness (e) of the support, a greater loading volume is obtained than that which would be obtained with standard, cylinder-shaped thrusters.

Disclosed are a method for the ejection of sub-munitions from a projectile with null or low inherent rolling speed as well as a projectile fitted out with means enabling this method to be applied. The front part of the projectile is separated from the rear part by the shifting of a piston in a tube under the action of a pyrotechnical charge. The combination, at this piston and this tube, of grooves, working together with indentations or with a rotating band, creates a rolling motion that is sufficient to communicate an ejection speed, perpendicular to the axis of the projectile, to the sub-munitions.

The invention relates to bombs intended to be released at a very low altitude so as to damage high mechanical resistance surfaces and more particularly antirunway bombs equipped with a downward or acceleration propulsive unit. Each bomb comprises means for braking and orienting it during its initial fall, so as to position the bomb in a plane activating an upward propulsive unit. These means are formed of at least one parachute placed at the head of the bomb. With the activation position reached, the upward propulsive unit causes the bomb to rise and, during the final fall of said bomb, a downward propulsive unit, placed in front of the upward propulsive unit, accelerates the final fall of the bomb so as to accumulate high kinetic energy at the time of impact on the ground.
