A continuous procedure for obtaining panels clad on at least two adjacent sides from a continuous band, including the steps of gluing cladding along a first face of the bands, holding the cladding in position until final gluing, gradually folding down the cladding along the side or sides of the band, gluing down the flaps and holding the cladding in position until final gluing. A heat and sound insulating panel comprises an insulating layer of mineral fibers bonded by a synthetic resin and surfacing layer consisting of a sheet of glass fibers. Between these two layers there is a heat-sealing film, for example of polyethylene, having a low level of steam permeability, having adherent qualities when heated, and an aluminum film of a thickness less than or equal to 9 microns, the aluminum film being glued to the glass sheet.

Process for packaging panels of a compressible material and the packages

The process according to the invention consists of superposing a plurality of panels (1), of providing the pile thus produced with at least one enclosure (2) of shrinkable plastic material, of subjecting the pile to a first compression in a direction normal to its wide surface, of causing the shrinking of the enclosure (2) on the compressed pile to provide a package, of superposing in order of thickness a plurality of identical packages of compressed panels, of applying a flat rigid element (12) against each of the terminal surfaces of the pile of packages thus produced, of subjecting the said pile to a second compression, perpendicular to the flat elements (12) and of joining the pile of packages (5) thus compressed with the aid of assembly means. The invention is applied to the packaging of panels of compressible materials.

Method is disclosed for packaging rolls of compressible insulation, including partially compressing a multi roll assembly of rolls superimposed upon each other between upper and lower contoured panels, while restraining lateral spreading of the assembly of rolls, and thereby establish predetermined package dimensions in both directions transversely of the rolls. There is also disclosed a method for stacking and interconnecting a plurality of the partially compressed multi roll packages.

Multi-roll package of compressible materials

The invention concerns a package of at least two layers of rolls of a compressible material. In this package, the rolls of each layer are placed side by side and in mutual contact, while the rolls of two superposed layers are in mutual contact along their lowermost or uppermost surfaces. In addition, the package contains two contoured panels adjacent the outer layers of the rolls, and two bindings bearing on the contoured panels and orthogonally arranged with respect to each other. The invention applies in particular to the packaging of rolls of fibrous insulating materials.
