The invention concerns a device wherein the equipment and the support formed by the motor vehicle structural element are assembled in at least one point by to matching co-operating element. The equipment co-operating element is elastically deformable for being spaced from or brought close to the support, to enable direct interlocking at said point for mounting with means for cushioning the equipment on the support. The equipment is in particular a heat exchanger comprising an array of tubes assembled at each of their opposite ends by a collector plate closed by a fluid box, the equipment co-operating element being then a structural part of the fluid box.

A folded tube for a motor vehicle heat exchanger, is made from a metal strip folded on itself so as to form two parallel channels separated by a spacer. The spacer results from the joining of two borders of the strip each being folded at right angles towards the inside of the tube from an outer face. Each of the borders is folded at right angles with respect to the outer face, forming a folded outer edge, and includes a protruding swelling which extends at least on the same side as the outer face of the strip. The invention makes it possible to produce a tube having flat large faces, the continuity of which is assured in the regions close to the spacer and which contributes to better holding of corrugated spacers in the heat exchanger.

A protective screen, to act as a filter for the air stream passed through a heat exchanger in a vehicle, especially a heavy goods vehicle, comprises a cover which is pervious to air and which is arranged to be disposed facing the heat exchanger and in the path of the air stream towards the latter. The cover has a first side edge adapted to be fixed to the vehicle by detachable fastening means, and a second side edge on the side opposite the first side edge. The second side edge is arranged to be fixed to the vehicle by detachable fastening means in the form of springs, which are such as to put the screen under tension.

Protective screen for a vehicle heat exchanger

A heat exchanger comprises a bundle of tubes opening at the bottom into a fluid header extending transversely and secured through a pair of side support structures to an upper fluid header. Each side support structure extends along a flank of the tube bundle, and has a lower portion in the form of a fastening lug formed with fastening holes for securing to the lower header at different levels, so that heat exchangers of different lengths can be made using the same headers and side support structure. This fastening lug is offset away from the flank of the tube bundle so as to accommodate a header having a length longer than the width of the tube bundle, and baffles are cut out in the fastening lug so that they can be bent towards the tube bundle where appropriate in order to form a barrier to the passage of air between the tubes and the lug if a fastening position other than that furthest away from the lower end of the support structure is chosen.
