An infeed device for drawing a material web into a web-fed rotary printing machine in an infeed direction includes an infeed channel, an infeed element guidable in the infeed channel, and an infeed triangle releasably connectable to the infeed element, the infeed triangle having fastened thereto a leading end of the material web to be drawn into the rotary printing machine, and the infeed triangle having, on a side thereof facing towards the infeed channel, a deformation extending at least approximately perpendicularly to the infeed direction.

The device for the control of blowing air is connected to a compressed-air source and it includes at least one outflow orifice. The device has a valve element which is moveable into a first position in which blowing air flows from the compressed-air source at least through a first duct to the outflow orifice and which is moveable into a second position in which blowing air flows from the compressed-air source at least through a second duct to the outflow orifice. A volume flow through the second duct is greater than a volume flow through the first duct. The device is formed as a basic body which is constructed in such a way that a plurality of such basic bodies can be assembled to form a blowing-air body, such as a turner bar in a printing machine.

A device for infeeding a material web into a rotary printing machine includes an infeed element for receiving a material web start, the infeed element being introducible onto an introduction path extending at least approximately parallel to a path of the material web in the rotary printing machine. Also included are suspension stations at which the material web is connectable to the infeed element, the suspension stations being assigned to respective components of the rotary printing machine along the path of the material web through the rotary printing machine; and a web-processing rotary printing machine having a guide path for the infeed element.

The configuration enables the introduction of a material web, which can be divided up into material sub-web strands, into the conveying paths of an angle-bar superstructure of a rotary printing machine. A slitting arrangement, which can be positioned in a variable manner in the angle-bar superstructure, and web drawing-in devices and components for attaching the material web or the material sub-web strands to the web drawing-in devices are provided. Assigned to the web-running plane is an adjustable advancement element which bridges a contact-pressure gap in relation to a mating roller, accommodated in the angle-bar superstructure, and by way of which one of the material sub-web strands or can be attached to an introduction element which can be moved into the web-running plane.

In a folder, a folding cylinder having folding components accommodated on the periphery thereof and being phase-dependently operatable, and cylinder segments for carrying the folding components, the cylinder segments being adjustable in relation to one another and being mounted coaxially in side walls, includes separate drives, respectively, for driving each of the folding components, a rotary leadthrough via which energy is supplied to the separate drives, and a speed controller for speed-dependently controlling the separate drives; a method of operating the folding cylinder; a folder including the folding cylinder; and a rotary printing machine in combination with the folder including the folding cylinder.

An inking unit in a rotary printing press includes an ink fountain with a ductor blade, a ductor roller disposed adjacent the ink fountain, and one or more ink fountain pans removably disposed in the ink fountain. The ink fountain pan is formed with a duct through which printing ink is conveyed to the ductor roller. The duct is selectively closed and opened with a closure device, which includes a closure member pivotally mounted on the ink fountain pan. The closure member thereby pivots between a first pivot position in which the duct is open and a second pivot position in which the duct is closed.

Inking unit for a rotary printing press

A turner bar has a hollow space that can be connected to a compressed air source, for deflecting a printed web of material. Closable and openable air outlet openings are disposed on a turner bar jacket. When a web is present above the air outlet openings of the turner bar, a counterpressure that builds up below the web effects a displacement of a movable opening and closing element, in such a way that an air supply is released.

The present invention relates to a device for replacing printing plates in rotary printing presses, particularly in web-fed rotary printing presses for printing both sides of a material web. The printing presses have at least one printing unit which has a cylinder having a clamping device within a cylinder gap for clamping the ends of a printing plate wound around the surface of the cylinder. The plate cylinder has a removal device for removing the printing plates released by the plate cylinder, as well as an infeed device for new printing plates to be fastened on the plate cylinder. The invention includes a plate cylinder of a lower printing unit with associated pivotable plates to be fed, as well as pivotable holding devices for the printing plates to be removed from the plate cylinder. The feed and the holding devices support the printing plates in a hanging position.

Device for replacing printing plates in rotary printing presses

The present invention relates to a device for holding a printing plate on a plate cylinder in a rotary printing press, and to a rotary printing press including such a device. The printing plate, retained by an anterior edge on the external surface of the plate cylinder, is furthermore retained by fastening a posterior end fold onto a hook which can move, with respect to the plate cylinder between a front limiting position in which it forms a projection on the external surface to allow this posterior end fold to be fastened or unfastened, and a rear limiting position in which it is retracted with respect to this external surface and retains the printing plate in tension, in the wound state on this cylinder. The mounting and dismantling of the printing press are thereby facilitated, and the printing gap is reduced to a minimum.

Plate cylinder

The invention relates to a device with an interchangeable leaf for holding a printing plate on a plate cylinder in a rotary printing press, and to a tool for dismantling the leaf. A leaf for fastening an edge of a printing plate onto the external surface of a plate cylinder penetrates into the latter via a slit and is mounted against a flat of a tension bar housed in the plate cylinder through the use of a passage receiving a end region of the leaf, of stop means for retaining the end region in the passage counter to movements other than the movement for extraction via the slit, and an elastic stop piece locking the end region by elastic clipping counter to such a movement but capable of being actuated by means of a flat tool inserted via the slit to release the end region. The mounting and dismantling of the leaf may thus be performed through the slit, without extracting the tension bar.

The present invention relates to a device for replacing printing plates in rotary printing presses. The printing presses include plate cylinders with a gap for receiving both ends of a printing plate while the surface of the printing plate is wound around the plate cylinder. The device includes a ramp for receiving a printing plate on the plate cylinder after the plate has been released by the clamping mechanism of the plate cylinder, and a ramp for feeding a new printing plate to the plate cylinder. The invention is characterized by horizontally movable holding elements provided close to the outer cylindrical surface of the plate cylinder. The holding elements hold the front edge of a printing plate to be fed, until pivotable holding devices, grip the front edge of the printing plate to be fed to bring it in contact with the outer cylindrical surface of the plate cylinder.

An apparatus and method for slowing down signatures sent to a quarter fold of a folder for a printing machine are disclosed. Signatures are transported between a first set of fast belts including upper belts and lower belts. The signatures are then received at their leading edge by an assembly of upper and lower partial pulleys mounted to a frame which changes the speed of the signatures to a slow speed. The signatures are then received at their leading edge by a second set of slow belts including upper belts and lower belts.

A web engagement system for an off-reel printing press comprising a guide piece, a guide channel and drive stations for the displacement of the guide piece. The guide channel accommodates and guides the guide piece and is located on the frame of the press between the drive stations. The guide piece is slightly longer than the distance separating the various drive stations. The advance of the guide piece is caused as a result of the displacement of a slide equipped with wedging rollers which alternately grip and release the guide piece. A pair of wedging rollers prevents the return movement of the guide piece. The invention is used for introducing paper webs unwinding continuously in an off-reel printing press.

The present invention relates to a folder for a rotary offset printing press comprising a transfer cylinder, a first-fold cylinder and a second fold cylinder. Each of the cylinders is constructed of two imbricated independent parts, and inner part and an outer part, moveable relative to one another and equipped with a respective driving gear. The drive gears of the respective cylinders are coupled to one another two-by-two so that coincidence between the cylinders is preserved. The drive gears of the transfer cylinder are connected to one another by a first pair of coupling gears coaxial relative to one another and interconnected by a first disengageable coupling and the drive gears of the first-fold cylinder being connected to one another by a second pair of coupling gears coaxial relative to one another and interconnected by a second disengageable coupling. An adjustment device for varying the angular displacement between the pairs of elements of the respective cylinders when the first and second disengageable couplings are in a disengaged position so as to convert the folder from a configuration that forms second parallel folds to one that forms delta folds.
