A drive mechanism (10, 110) for driving first and second displacement members (12, 14, 112, 114) disposed in tandem. The mechanism includes first and second driven sprockets (16, 18; 116, 118) for respective ones of the displacement members, a hydraulic motor (20; 120), and first and second driving sprockets (22, 24; 122, 124) disposed on the casing of the hydraulic motor so as to be rotated thereby. The mechanism also includes first and second chains (26, 28; 126, 128) disposed in a chain case (30; 130), each chain being engaged on a respective driven sprocket and on a respective driving sprocket. The hydraulic motor (20, 120) is a low-speed high-torque motor, having radial cylinders and a rotary casing. The motor is substantially contained in the chain case (30; 130).

Drive mechanism for driving displacement members disposed in tandem

A braking device comprises first and second braking device respectively constrained to rotate with the brake case and with a brake shaft. The device comprises a braking piston, resilient device for displacing the piston axially towards a braking position, hydraulic device for displacing the piston axially in the opposite direction towards a brake-release position, and mechanical brake-release device for bringing the piston into its brake-release position and for holding it there. These mechanical brake-release device comprise at least two brake-release systems each comprising a bore having at least one substantially radial first segment, a screw displaceable in the bore, and displacement transfer device comprising at least one intermediate member suitable for transforming the radial displacement of the screw into axial displacement for pushing away the piston.

The invention relates to a braking device, constituted by a housing in which is housed a brake disc fixed in rotation with respect to the housing, a shaft mounted to rotate, a rotary brake disc, fast with the shaft, a first jack, constituting a pressurized fluid braking control member, and a second jack distinct and independent of the first jack, which defines, inside the housing, a brake-release chamber, to which is coupled an elastic safety braking member, the mobile element of the first jack and the piston of the second jack being stacked axially in that order from only one of the two ends of the alternate stack of the fixed and rotary brake discs. The mobile elements of the two jacks are each at least partly contained in the brake-release chamber which, furthermore, contains each fixed brake disc and 1 or each rotary brake disc. One application of the present invention is a multiple-effect brake of satisfactory compactness.

The invention relates to a fluid engine constituted by cylinders divided into two groups, by a valve bank which comprises two enclosures connected selectively to a source of fluid and to a reservoir, and connecting each cylinder of a first group, with the said enclosures, successively, and by means for selecting the speed of the engine, which means comprise a movable member adapted to occupy two positions which, in a first position, creates a communication between the cylinder of the second group and the enclosures, successively, and in a second position, isolate said cylinders from one of the enclosures. Said engine comprises a shuttle valve which, when the movable member is in its second position, connects the cylinders of the second group to that of the two enclosures which contains the fluid under the lowest pressure. The invention finds an application in the production of a mechanically reliable reversible engine.
