Disclosed is a stent that is useful for treating a vascular bifurcation, the stent having a plurality of segments extending coaxially end to end along a longitudinal axis of the stent from a first end to a second end of the stent, each segment having a plurality of struts extending in a zig-zag pattern around the circumference of the stent, wherein the stent is expandable from reduced diameter to an expanded diameter, the second end of the stent having a larger diameter than the first end when expanded; and an eyelet integrally formed with the segment positioned adjacent the second end, and configured to receive a radiopaque marker therein. The stent provides an improvement over prior stents for treating a vascular bifurcation by allowing the stent to be deployed in the widened transitional zone of a bifurcation such that the second end of the stent is accurately positioned at the carina.

A removable intravascular filter system traps emboli and other solid materials in connection with intravascular medical procedures such as the placement of a stent or a catheter balloon. The system involves a hollow guidewire and an actuating wire movable within the guidewire to actuate the filter membrane. Embodiments of the filter system include biased closed and biased open filter configurations, and are easily routed through a patient's artery and deployed. Optionally, the actuating wire can be removed and a substitute wire can be inserted into the hollow guidewire. Control mechanisms can help the operator limit movement of the actuating wire during deployment and/or collapse of the filter membrane. Preferred filter membranes are configured to maximize both blood flow and emboli capture.

Method for dynamic separation into two zones with a screen of clean air

A device for dynamically separating two zones by a bufer zone and two clean air curtains. When transferring objects at high speed between two zones, a buffer zone which is connected to the two zones, forms a dynamic lock in order to separate them. a dynamic confinement system placed between each pair of adjacent communication zones forms an air curtain including two or three clean air jets. The buffer zone includes a blower ceiling and an intake grill facing it.
