Apparatus for rearranging signal channels of a multi-loop TDM transmission system, each loop having a plurality of high rate channels CI in successive base frames, portions of successive base frames forming a plurality of low rate channels CS. The system capacity can thereby readily be expanded by including additional loops. In order to rearrange a plurality p of asynchronous TDM signals into the correct channels to constitute a plurality of synchronous outgoing TDM signals, the apparatus includes respective units SRI for providing synchronization and rearrangement of the signals in the high rate (CI) channels. The p outputs of the SRI units are connected to p respective inputs of an interloop switching unit CII for switching the CI channels, and also to p respective inputs of an interloop switching unit RCIS which rearranges and switches the CS channels. The p outputs of the unit CII and the p outputs of the unit RCIS are paired, the respective pairs being supplied to respective combination circuits which combine the signals in each pair to derive the respective synchronous multiplexed outgoing signals.

Apparatus for rearranging signal channels of a multi-loop time-division

A time-division-multiplexing loop telecommunication system has a first and a second transmission line for linking up a succession of connecting circuits and for supplying information, in a normal service direction of transmission, to subscriber circuits attached to the connecting circuits; these connecting circuits are provided with an input and an output for the connection of subscriber circuits, with up-line and down-line access points connected to the said lines. Typical of this system is that at the level of each connecting circuit provision is made for means of command for linking the input of the subscriber circuits to one of the up-line access points receiving the infromation, while the output is linked to the down-line access points.

This arrangement for re-arranging information has for its object to transmit time-division multiplexed information obtained from incoming time-division multiplexed information. These multiplexers are formed by fast-rate channels and slow-rate channels; the arrangement for re-arranging information comprises a set of memories (M0 to M7) which have a data input (12) and a data output (SM) and to which there are connected on the one hand a write circuit (21) for writing therein, at the rate of the incoming multiplexed information, the information from this multiplex, and on the other hand, a read circuit (50) for applying to the outgoing multiplex, at its rate, the information contained in the said set of memories. The arrangement further comprises a delay element (55) which cooperates with change-over means (25 and 60) for delaying the information from the slow-rate channels at the output of the said set of memories and a combining circuit connected to the data output of the set of memories and to the said delay element for producing the outgoing multiplexed information.

Arrangement for re-arranging information for transmitting outgoing

This closed loop multiplex communication system uses a timing unit to establish a general multiplex format consisting of 1024 frames in a multiframe. Each subscriber station transmits one message bit per frame (i.e. 1024 message bits per multiframe), but transmits only 32 signalling bits per multiframe (i.e. the eight-bit non-message blocks in four corresponding frames).

Closed-loop telecommunication system

A ground proximity warning system used by aircraft when unsafe flight configurations defined by specified flight warning mode envelopes are detected. The invention provides that alarm generation signals are not immediately given, but instead the continuing flight of the aircraft is monitored by an alarm filtering system. The filtering system uses independently variable maximum and minimum threshold levels, and filtering constants which can be incremented and or decremented as functions of the flight location of the aircraft and the specific warning mode envelope for suppressing false or unnecessary alarm generation. The filtering parameters may be varied independently for each flight warning mode. In addition, a priority-ordered series of audio warnings are provided so that warnings once started are completed in the absence of higher priority warnings, even if the warning conditions cease to exist. Low priority warnings which are interrupted by higher priority warnings are regenerated when the higher priority warnings have been completed.
