Content can be visualized using a semi-expanded state. A user interface can contain two or more shapes which contain selectable elements that generate popover shapes. A 'semi-expanded' popover shape is generated in the user interface in response to a selection of an element of a first shape in the user interface. The popover contains information associated with a data object and it is positioned outside of and separate from the first shape. The popover is positioned on top of a second shape where a second portion of the second shape is not covered. When a selection of the first popover shape is obtained it is transformed into an expansion of the first shape which contains the information associated with the data object represented by the first shape. The second shape is repositioned outside of the expansion of the first shape.

An example method and system for display of out-of-window status indicators in a virtual shelf of a diagram window. A diagram framework displays a first portion of a diagram within a diagram window of a display device. The diagram comprises a set of shapes and a set of connectors representing a corresponding set of relationships between a set of objects. The framework detects that a first shape of the set of shapes at a first position of the first shape and a first status indicator associated with the first shape at a first position of the first status indicator are at least partially outside a first visible portion of the diagram within the diagram window. The diagram framework determines a second position of the first status indicator within the diagram window. The first status indicator at the second position of the first status indicator is displayed within the diagram window.

Disclosed are methods and systems for cell content alignment. The methods and systems involve retrieving one or more table parameters, the one or more table parameters including size of currently invisible cells in a display window, size of merged cells, the display window size and text size in the merged cells, calculating a position of a text in a visible portion of merged cells based on the table parameters and displaying the text in the merged cells based on the calculated position of the text.
