An angulating spinal plate assembly for fixation and/or support of bones of the spinal column is provided. The angulating bone plate includes interleaved, arcuate sheets that facilitate relative motion between first/second elements. An implant assembly is also provided that includes an angulating bone plate and associated first/second intervertebral plates that extend therefrom. The angulating bone plate generally includes an interleaved elements, e.g., an upstanding tab that cooperates with opposing faces of an opening, that permit rotational movement as between first/second implant elements until a desired relative orientation is achieved. At such time, a fixation/locking element is generally employed to fix the first/second implant elements relative to each other. The rotational movement permitted is generally in multiple planes based on the cooperative arcuate surfaces provided in the disclosed elements, i.e., side-to-side and top-to-bottom freedoms of movement.

Angulating bone plate

A spinal construct includes a first endplate that is configured to engage a first vertebral surface. An expandable member is connected with the first endplate and includes a mating element. A second endplate is configured to engage a second vertebral surface and includes an in-situ guide surface engageable with the mating element to connect the member with the second endplate. Systems and methods are disclosed.

Spinal construct and method

A spinal implant includes a first member defining a longitudinal axis and including a wall that defines an axial cavity. The first member further defines at least one lateral cavity configured for disposal of an instrument and is oriented transverse relative to the longitudinal axis. A second member includes an axial surface defining gear teeth and being configured for disposal with the axial cavity such that the teeth are offset from the longitudinal axis. The instrument is engageable with the teeth to axially translate the second member relative to the first member. Surgical instruments, systems and methods are disclosed.

A bending machine with a cam made up of two articulated arms, comprising a main roller that is coaxial with the axis of articulation of the arms, the end of the short portion of each one of the arms having means for exerting a bending force on a rod, wherein the means are made up of eyelets, each one of the eyelets being mounted on the end of the short portion of one of the arms in a rotatably mobile manner about an axis parallel to the axis of the main roller.

The invention relates to a medical instrument for creating a cavity for an endoscopic intervention in a human or animal body, comprising a hollow cylindrical encasing trocar tube which can be inserted into an artificial body opening and an expander which can be extracted from and retracted into said tube. The above-mentioned medical instrument consists of a small number of parts and is easy to handle. It is characterized in that the expander comprises a retaining element which is arranged outside the trocar tube in addition to at least two spring blades which are made of a flexible material and form an arc in the respective median sections thereof, whereby the two ends thereof are respectively fixed to the retaining element, extending through the tube of the trocar. The invention also relates to a method for the use of said medical instrument.
