This method of manufacturing composite rings for rolling-contact bearings comprises the steps of making a composite ring from a blank of bearing steel sheet and a circular rough-shaped steel body obtained by compressing a same or different steel grade used in a granular, spheroidal, pulverulent or fibrous form, by means of a sintering, forging and/or rolling operation, the final product having the sheet portion disposed in the operative area of the ring.

Method of manufacturing composite rings for bearings

An antifriction bearing assembly having two rows of bearing elements running in races of different diameters and laying approximately in the same radial plane. The bearing races and mounting rings are made up of an assembly of flange members formed from sheet metal or thin metal plate and including an inner and an outer flange each defining a race for the inner or the outer row of bearing elements and an intermediate flange defining either an inner or an outer race for each of the rows of bearing elements. The bearing is mounted on two relatively rotatable members by directly securing the rotatable members to the bearing's ring structure which is formed as an integral part of the flanges.

Concentric antifriction bearing assembly

An internal finish-grinding machine of the type comprising a frame carrying a rotatable grinding wheel and also supporting an axially movable table which itself carries a rotatable support for a workpiece has the table pivotally mounted on a single horizontal spindle which also forms a guide rail along which the table is axially movable. The spindle extends over a major part of the length of the grinder to give the table widely based support and the spindle is situated in a substantially vertical plane containing the axis of rotation of the workpiece support. The spindle is mounted in the lower part of the machine frame in order to maximize the distance between the axis of the spindle and the axis of rotation of the workpiece support. This ensures that there is a minimum deviation in the shape of the finish-ground workpiece brought about by wear of the periphery of the grinding wheel.

Machine tool for finish-grinding the inner surfaces of annular workpieces

A fixed-adjustment hub for spoked bicycle wheels wherein two flanges are held on by the tension of the spokes, two bearings are held in a tubular crosspiece, and one bearing is held so as not to slide on the hub axle. The hub is of a fixed-adjustment type, the disassembly of which requires removal of the spokes.
