An air purifier filter system comprises an air purifier filter unit and a machine readable identifier which provides information concerning the filter unit type and performance information specific to a target pollutant to be filtered by said air purifier filter unit from a plurality of different pollutants that can be filtered by that filter unit type. This information can be used to provide an end of life prediction for the filter unit or provide advice that the filter should be changed for other reasons. This enables the user to be given advance warning, and to be given instructions when it is time to change the filter unit. The instructions to change the filter unit may be more accurate than a simple timer as they can take account of the type of filter unit and the performance information. In some examples the use history of the filter unit may also be used to predict the time when it should be changed.

Air purifier filter system, an air purifier and a method for controlling an air purifier

The invention relates to an evaporative humidifier including a water reservoir, a wick unit and a fan unit. The wick unit is configured to absorb water from the water reservoir. The fan unit is arranged within a fan housing and configured to force an air flow to flow through the wick unit. The fan housing comprises a top cover unit defining at least one annular air outlet at an outer part adjacent a circumference of the top cover unit. One of the main advantages of this invention is that the evaporative humidifier has an optimal air flow path and can operate in a low noise. The invention also relates to an indoor climate controlling system using such an evaporative humidifier.

In a coffee maker () having a boiler () and heating means () for heating a content of the boiler (), safety measures are taken to prevent breakdown of the coffee maker () in the case in which the heating means () are activated while the boiler () is empty. The coffee maker () comprises a controller () having a memory () in which a flag indicating a filled state of the boiler () can be raised, which controller () is programmed to activate the heating means () to supply reduced heating power if the memory () does not contain the flag. A situation in which the boiler () gets overheated, even if the heating means () are shut off after having been operated, is prevented thereby.

Heating process of a boiler of a coffee maker

A beverage maker includes a boiler for containing and heating water and a normally opened thermostat having a sensing member for sensing a temperature of the water, wherein the sensing member is located at a certain distance with respect to a water inlet of the boiler. When the water is heated, and the temperature of the water exceeds a set point of the thermostat, the thermostat closes. As a result, a pumping action is started, where hot water is forced to flow out of the boiler, and where cold water is forced to flow into the boiler. When a front of the cold water reaches the sensing member of the thermostat, the thermostat is triggered to open again, and the pumping action is terminated. By means of the thermostat, the quantity of hot water that is used for the purpose of making a beverage is accurately controlled.
