A flow control valve is provided to adjust the flow rate of coolant and a variable-separation-cooling process at the same time by adjusting the opening degree of the flow control valve. The ports are controlled simultaneously in a variable manner merely by the operation of the flow control valve and thus, a variable temperature control process for increasing the temperature of the entire engine, rapid engine warm-up, and a separated cooling process at the same time is realized.

Flow control valve

The present invention relates to a technology that can simultaneously control the flow rate of a coolant and perform variable separate cooling by controlling the opening rate of a flow control valve. The flow control valve has an inlet port connected to a coolant outlet of a cylinder block and a plurality of outlet ports connected to a cooling inlet port of an engine such that the opening rate of a first outlet port is symmetrically changed in a first direction and a second direction from a mid-operation angle of the entire operation section of the flow control valve.

A fail-safe control method for a vehicle cooling system, in which an engine and a vehicle can be properly operated even when a water temperature sensor malfunctions. When only one of two water temperature sensors malfunctions, control may be performed so that an engine and a vehicle can properly operate. When both the two water temperature sensors malfunction, the fail-safe function of the flow rate control valve can be enabled to entirely prevent cooling water from being overheated, thereby improving the reliability of the operation of the vehicle.

Fail-safe control method for vehicle cooling system

A cooling system for a vehicle and a control method thereof improves fuel efficiency through quick warm-up of an engine by controlling a flow rate of cooling water passing through an EGR cooler. In the cooling system and control method cooling water with an increased temperature through flow stagnation control is first supplied to an oil heat exchanger side. Heat energy generated from the engine is used to rapidly raise a cooling water temperature and an oil temperature. The canned motor includes: a can inserted into a housing to seal a coil mounted within the housing; and a stator installed on an outer peripheral surface of the can and inserted along an inner peripheral surface of the housing. An oil circuit for a continuous variable valve timing (CVVT) device includes a main oil passage from a cylinder block toward a cylinder head to feed oil from a main gallery to a cam shaft, and a control oil passage branching off from the main oil passage on a side of the cylinder block and formed so as to feed the oil from the main oil passage to the continuous variable valve timing devices via an intake-side oil control valve and an exhaust-side oil control valve. The oil is fed to the cam shaft, the intake-side CVVT device, the exhaust-side CVVT device and a timing chain tensioner at one time. Thereby, the hydraulic pressure the hydraulic pressure applied to two cam shafts can be equally maintained, and the tension of a belt or a chain can be simultaneously regulated so as to improve the driving force of a crank.

Oil circuit for continuous variable valve timing device

An EGR system has an EGR distributor in the form of a single plate integrally equipped with an exhaust gas passage and a coolant passage for recirculated exhaust gas therewith. The lengths of each exhaust gas passages for the recirculated exhaust gas to reach each cylinder are equal to each other, whereby the amount of the exhaust gas recirculated to each intake passage is same and the overall efficiency of the EGR system is improved. The EGR distributor is preferably manufactured in the form of a single component by AL die casting method.
