A method can include sending, by a wireless device to an access and mobility management function (AMF) a non-access stratum (NAS) message indicating a request to establish a packet data unit (PDU) session to join a group communication session. The NAS message can include an identifier of the group communication session, an identifier of a network slice, and a protocol configuration option information. The method can also include receiving, by the wireless device from the AMF, a response message indicating acceptance of the request.

A first base station receives a first request to notify a change of a closed access group (CAG) area of a wireless device. The first base station sends, to an access and mobility management function (AMF), a location report message indicating the change of the CAG area of the wireless device.

A wireless device may be configured to perform a method including receiving, from a time sensitive network (TSN) translator device, a TSN parameter. The wireless device may also send, to an access and mobility management function (AMF), a non-access stratum (NAS) message indicating a request to establish a protocol data unit (PDU) session comprising the one or more TSN parameters. The wireless device may receive, from the AMF, a message indicating acceptance of the PDU session.

A wireless device sends a first request to a mobility management function via a base station. The first request includes a paging cause indication in a paging message. A first paging message is received by the wireless device and comprises a first paging cause indication. Based on the first paging message, a second request for a connection setup is sent.

A session management function (SMF) sends, to a policy and charging control function (PCF), a request for policy information of a wireless device, the request comprising a parameter of a time sensitive networking (TSN) bridge, wherein the parameter comprises port information of the TSN bridge. The SMF receives, from the PCF, a response to the request, the response comprising the policy information of the wireless device.

The PCF also receives a second message comprising an identifier of a communication service provider (CSP ID). The PCF maps the first NSI ID to the CSP ID and further selects a charging function (CHF) for the first PDU session per CSP based on the mapping.

A session management function (SMF) receives, from a wireless device, an indication that an always-on packet data unit (PDU) session is requested. The SMF determines to establish the PDU session as an always-on PDU session based on: the indication that the always-on PDU session is requested; and the PDU session being for an ultra-reliable low-latency communication (URLLC) service. The SMF sends, to the wireless device, an indication that the PDU session is to be established as the always-on PDU session.

A network exposure function (NEF) may include one or more processors and memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the NEF to perform a process. The process can include transmitting, to a session management function (SMF), a message that includes downlink data from an application server and for transmission to a wireless device and a release assistance indicator (RAI). The RAI can indicate transmission of uplink data by the wireless device is expected subsequent to transmission of the downlink data and a release of a connection associated with the wireless device after the transmission of the uplink data. The RAI can be configured to be included with a release message indicating release of a non-access stratum connection associated with the wireless device. The release message can include the RAI.

A method can include transmitting, by a base station to a wireless device, a radio resource control (RRC) message to transition the wireless device from an RRC connected state to an RRC inactive state. The RRC message can indicate a time period in which the wireless device is reachable by paging. The RRC message can be configured to trigger the wireless device to transition from the RRC connected state to the RRC inactive state while remaining in a connection management (CM) connected state. The RRC message can also trigger the wireless device to monitor, in the RRC inactive state, to receive a paging message during the time period after the transitioning. The RRC message can further trigger the wireless device to, in response to an expiration of the time period, stop the monitoring to receive the paging message.

A session management function (SMF) receives a request message from a network exposure function (NEF). The request message is for a delivery of a trigger to a wireless device. The request message includes a trigger payload and a trigger indication. The trigger payload includes information for an application on the wireless device. The trigger indication identifies that the request message carries the trigger payload. The SMF sends, via an access and mobility management function (AMF), a non-access stratum (NAS) message to the wireless device. The NAS message includes the trigger indication and the trigger payload. The SMF receives, from the wireless device via the AMF and based on the trigger payload, a request to establish a packet data unit session for the application.

A session management function (SMF) receives, from a wireless device, a packet data unit (PDU) session establishment request message. The PDU session establishment request message comprises: location information of the wireless device; and a single-network slice selection assistance information (S-NSSAI) of the PDU session. The SMF selects a local proxy call session control function (P-CSCF) based on: the location information of the wireless device; and the S-NSSAI of the PDU session. The SMF sends, to the wireless device, a PDU session establishment accept message comprising an identifier of the P-CSCF.

A first base station receives, from a second base station, a next generation radio access network (NG-RAN) configuration update message including a neighbor information evolved universal mobile telecommunications system terrestrial radio access (E-UTRA) information element (IE), a served cells new radio (NR) to add IE, a slice identifier of a first network slice supported by a cell of the second base station, and a second served cell information NR IE indicating that the cell of the second base station is in a second closed access group (CAG). The first base station sends, to the second base station, an NG-RAN configuration update acknowledge message including a first served cell information NR IE indicating that a cell of the first base station is in a first CAG. The first base station sends, to the second base station, a handover request message to the cell of the second base station.

A method may include receiving, by a charging function (CHF) from a policy control function (PCF), a first request for charging policy information for a packet data unit (PDU) session of a wireless device. The method may also include sending, by the CHF to the PCF, a message comprising the charging policy information. The charging policy information may indicate a charging method that includes: online charging, offline charging, converged charging, or a combination thereof. The method may further include receiving, by the CHF from a session management function (SMF), a second request to establish a charging session, wherein the second request comprises the charging method. The method may additionally include sending, by the CHF to the SMF, a confirmation for the charging method.
