A fluid transfer system includes a container having a body having a sidewall extending between an open top end and a bottom end along a central axis to define an interior cavity, and at least one protrusion extending from an interior portion of the sidewall into the interior cavity. The system further including a connector configured for receipt within the interior cavity. The connector having a body having a distal end, a proximal end, and a sidewall extending between the distal end and the proximal end and defining a fluid passageway therethrough, and a locking arrangement provided on at least a portion of an inner member of the connector and accessible through at least a portion of an outer member of the connector. The locking arrangement is configured for cooperating with the at least one protrusion to prevent rotation of the inner member relative to the outer member.

Fluid transfer device and packaging therefor

A device for obtaining a biological sample, such as a capillary blood collection device, that has the ability to lance and squeeze the finger, collect the sample, stabilize the sample, and subsequently dispense the sample in a controlled manner is disclosed. The device also simplifies and streamlines the capillary blood collection by eliminating workflow variabilities which are typically associated with low sample quality including hemolysis and micro-clots.

The housing may include a first portion and a second portion connected to the first portion. The first end of the housing can include a connector configured to be secured to a syringe barrel. The first portion of the housing can be connected to the second portion via axial and radial interference between the first portion and the second portion of the housing.

The assembly can also include a protective cap having a first open end and a second closed end. The protective cap can be connected to the housing via a snap fit and can be configured to receive the second end of the housing.

A syringe adapter includes a housing having a first end and a second end and defining an interior space, a seal arrangement received within the interior space of the housing, a connector body positioned adjacent the first end of the housing and configured to be connected with a syringe barrel with the connector body secured to the housing and rotatable relative to the housing in first and second directions, and a cannula secured to the connector body. The connector body is axially fixed relative to the housing. A fluid transfer system includes packaging having a body with a sidewall extending between an open top end and a bottom end and defining an interior cavity, and at least one protrusion extending radially inward from the sidewall into the interior cavity. The system also includes a fluid transfer device including an inner member and an outer member surrounding at least a portion of the inner member. The inner member having a first position where the inner member is configured to rotate freely relative to the outer member and a second position where rotation of the inner member relative to the outer member is restricted in a first rotational direction. The fluid transfer device also including a locking arrangement configured for cooperating with the at least one protrusion to prevent rotation of the inner member relative to the outer member upon an application of a compressive force on the packaging.
