The representative embodiments discussed in the present disclosure relate to techniques in which the operating characteristics (e.g., power consumption) of a power amplifier in a transceiver may be regulated according to an operation mode of the transceiver. More specifically, in some embodiments, different LUTs may be employed for each mode of operation to suitably adjust the supply voltage (e.g., bias voltage) and/or quiescent current input to the power amplifier based on an input signal and a margin by which transmission standards are met. Further, in some embodiments, a method to calibrate a LUT for average power tracking and/or envelope tracking in a transceiver mode of operation may be employed to populate a LUT that may be used to suitably adjust the power and/or current consumption of the power amplifier.

Techniques for improving cellular current consumption

This disclosure relates to systems, methods, and apparatus for limiting or throttling an activity of an accessory device communicatively coupled to a computing device. The activity of the accessory device is limited or throttled in order to reduce electromagnetic interference and improve signal quality of a wireless communication in which the computing device is participating. In some embodiments, a decision to throttle can be based on battery charge level of the computing device. For example, in some embodiments, the accessory device is an accessory battery charger configured to provide power to the computing device when a power outlet is not immediately available. If the signal quality of a phone call from the computing device is diminished or the user is in an area of low signal coverage, the accessory battery charger can be limited or throttled in order to prevent interference between the accessory battery charger and computing device.

An electronic device may be provided with a display and wireless circuits. The wireless circuits may include antenna structures and radio-frequency transceiver circuitry that transmits and receives radio-frequency signals using the antenna structures. A ground plane for the antenna structures may be located in the center of the electronic device under the display. A resonating element may be used to reduce signal interference that otherwise arises when simultaneously operating the display and the antenna structures. The resonating element may be implemented using an L-shaped structure have an arm that extends parallel to one of the edges of the display.

An electronic device may contain clock circuits, transmitters, and other circuits that serve as sources of noise signals. The noise signals may be characterized by a noise spectrum. The noise spectrum produced by a noise source can be adjusted by adjusting spread spectrum clock circuitry in a clock circuit, by adjusting data scrambling circuitry in a transmitter circuit, or by making other dynamic adjustments to the circuitry of the electronic device. During operation of the electronic device, sensitive circuitry in the device such as wireless receiver circuitry may be adversely affected by the presence of noise from a noise source in the device. Based on information such as which receiver bands and/or channels are being actively received and target sensitivity levels for the receiver circuitry, control circuitry within the electronic device can determine in real time how to minimize interference between the noise source and the wireless receiver circuitry.
