An air-handling system for a vehicle includes a housing defining a first flow path through which a first flow of air is configured to selectively flow and a second flow path through which a second flow of air is configured to selectively flow. A heat exchange passageway provides fluid communication between the first flow path and the second flow path within the housing. A heat sink is disposed within the heat exchange passageway and is associated with cooling a linear power module of a blower assembly disposed within the housing. The heat sink is configured to exchange heat with air disposed within the heat exchange passageway to provide cooling of the linear power module regardless of a mode of operation of the blower assembly.

The delivery section includes a conduit branching into a windshield defrost pathway and a demist pathway, the windshield defrost pathway leading to windshield defrost vents of a passenger compartment of the vehicle and the demist pathway leading to side window defrost vents of the passenger compartment. A control door rotatably disposed in the conduit is adjustable through a range of rotational positions wherein a flow area through the windshield defrost pathway is variably restricted while the demist pathway remains unobstructed. The control door is further adjustable to a position wherein the windshield defrost pathway and the demist pathway are closed.

An air handling system for a vehicle comprises a conditioning section for controlling a temperature of a flow of air, a mixing section disposed downstream of the conditioning section with respect to a direction of the flow of the air, and a delivery section disposed downstream of the mixing section with respect to the direction of the flow of the air. The delivery section includes a first chamber, a second chamber, and a third chamber. A dividing plate separates each of the second chamber and the third chamber into a first side portion to a first side of the dividing plate and a second side portion to an opposing second side of the dividing plate. The second side portion of the third chamber is configured to primarily direct the flow of the air towards a rear seat area of the vehicle.

The wave configuration includes an annular array of crests and an annular of troughs alternately formed in at least one of an outer surface and an inner surface of the hub. A temperature door for an air handling system of a heating, ventilating, and air conditioning system includes a first surface defining a sealing perimeter and a pivoting structure coupled to the first surface and defining an axis. The first surface is configured to pivot about the axis in the housing of the air handling system. A sealing lip is disposed about the sealing perimeter of the first surface and is adapted to engage a corresponding sealing surface of the housing of the air handling system. A pivoting of the first surface about the axis from a sealed position causes a progressive disengagement of the sealing lip from the sealing surface beginning in a location proximate the axis while at least a portion of the sealing lip remains engaged with the sealing surface at a location spaced from the axis.

A blower assembly includes a housing having a blower wheel disposed therein and a pre-swirler disposed in a fluid inlet of the housing. The pre-swirler includes an array of spaced apart vanes extending radially outwardly from a central hub. The vanes extend from the hub to an outer ring that is attached to the housing of the blower assembly. The vanes are configured to cooperate with the blower wheel to minimize a noise, a vibration, and a harshness (NVH) of the blower assembly, while maximizing an efficiency thereof.
