A filter assembly comprises a housing defining an internal volume and comprising an inlet for receiving fuel, a first outlet to allow filtered fuel to exit the internal volume, and a second outlet to allow water separated from the fuel to exit the internal volume. A filter element is disposed within the internal volume for filtering the fuel to provide the filtered fuel and separate the water from the fuel. An outlet assembly is fluidly coupled to the first and second outlets and comprises a first flow path structured to communicate the filtered fuel to the first outlet, and a second flow path fluidly coupled to the internal volume of the housing and to the water reservoir so as to receive the water from the internal volume and communicate the water to the water reservoir. The second flow path is fluidly isolated from the first flow path.

A filter assembly that comprises a housing, an outer filter element, and an inner filter element. The outer filter element is positionable within the housing and comprises an outer filter media. The inner filter element is positionable within the outer filter element and comprises an inner filter media, a media support structure, an inner top endplate, and an inner bottom endplate. Sealing systems and methods for a filtration system

Various example embodiments relate to a filtration system. The filtration system comprises a housing having a first housing end and a second housing end. The housing defines a central compartment therein. The housing comprises a key slot disposed on the first housing end and a housing key element protruding from the first housing end toward the second housing end. The filtration system further comprises a filter element positioned within the central compartment of the housing. The filter element has a first filter end and a second filter end. The filter element includes filter media and an endplate disposed on the first filter end. The endplate includes a central endplate opening, a key element configured for engagement with the key slot, and an installation guidance element formed along the central endplate opening. The installation guidance element is configured for engagement with the housing key element.

The fuel water separator filter is configured for use on a suction side of a fuel pump, and includes a neck with a radially outward facing seal that in use seals with the filter housing. The filter housing is formed with an isolated water sump that in use is isolated from water that is stripped from the fuel by the first stage of the outer filter.

A filter cartridge for use within a filter housing of a filter assembly that includes a filter media, a first endplate attached to a first end of the filter media, and a second endplate attached to a second end of the filter media. The second endplate includes a plurality of extensions extending axially away from a surface of the second endplate. The plurality of extensions possess a toothed profile and are sized and positioned so as to engage with at least one rib associated with a portion of the filter housing such that, when at least one of the plurality of extensions is engaged with the at least one rib, a rotation of the portion of the filter housing in a first direction results in a corresponding rotation of the filter cartridge.
