The invention relates to an autoinjectorfor administering a fluid medicament to a subject comprising: a housingfor receiving a cartridge holder; a driver assembly; the driver assembly on actuation may move the cartridgeforward in the cartridge holder; a needle covermay be coupled to the housing wherein the needle covertravels in a linear or translational movement; said needle coveris adapted to protect a needle when the needle cover may be in first locking positionand second locking position; the linear or translational movement may be achieved by a cam profileand a cam follower; the cam profilemay be provided on outside surface of housing and the cam followerlocated between the needle coverand the housing; a first biasing member; and a second biasing memberconfigured to bias the cartridgeand the needle coverrespectively; and a safety capto control the actuation of the autoinjector. The needle coverfurther comprises a sleeveor sleevewhich prevents or inhibits the obstruction of the movement of needle coverwhen the user accidentally hold the needle coverduring actuation of the autoinjector.
