The method includes: receiving an application program interface based request for UP path selection from the 3party entity; performing a validation and authorization procedure with the request; transmitting a UP path selection configuration request to a Control Plane Function that maintains configuration data; obtaining a reference number confirming the UP path selection configuration request; and installing the UP path selection according to the reference number.

There is provided a method and apparatus for data transmission using shared radio bearer in order to simplify the operation of RAN access node by reducing signalling overhead related to mobility and simplifying per UE RBs setup/release operation. Using the shared radio bearer, UE mobility operation becomes transparent to access node (e.g. edge cell) and to UE. There is also provided a method and apparatus for simplifying the operation of UE for RBs setup/release and to make the Layer 2 (L2) operation independent from mobility (e.g. independent from handover).

Embodiments of the disclosure provide methods and systems for sidelink resource allocation in user equipment (UE) groups. The method includes, receiving, by a UE, from a radio access network (RAN) node, a first resource configuration message including configuration information for sidelink resources indicated by a sidelink resource grant and conditions for using sidelink resources of the sidelink resource grant. The method further includes receiving, from a second UE of the UE group, a second sidelink resource configuration message, the second sidelink resource configuration message including an activation indicator to activate at least a portion of the sidelink resources indicated by the sidelink resource grant. The method further includes determining the sidelink resources to be used for sidelink transmissions by combining the first and second sidelink resource configuration messages. The method further includes using the determined sidelink resources for data transmissions.

System and method for sidelink resource allocation in user equipment groups

An apparatus receives an indication of a set of geographic zones and a set of control transmission wireless resource units. For each one of the geographic zones, corresponding control transmission wireless resource unit are specified for use while in that the geographic zone. While in a first zone of the geographic zones, a control transmission is transmitted, reserving a first data transmission wireless resource unit for use by the apparatus for sidelink (SL) data communication. The control transmission is performed using control transmission wireless resource units corresponding to the first zone. The data transmission wireless resource unit is selected from a pool of data transmission wireless resource units and each member of the pool of data transmission wireless resource units is available for use across a set of geographic zones. Different members of the pool of data transmission wireless resource units are concurrently.

System and method for transmission redundancy in wireless communications

The disclosure concerns a method and communication system for user path (UP) reselection. The method includes sending, from a network entity, a request to influence UP path reselection, the request indicating an application function (AF) location to be included in the UP path reselection. The method further includes generating, by a policy control function (PCF), a policy associated with the request and providing, by the PCF, the policy to a session management function (SMF). The method additionally includes performing, by the SMF, the UP path reselection for a session according to the policy and acknowledging, by the PCF, the request to the network entity.

A telecom connectivity service provider (TCSP) and a method for allocating an infrastructure resource to a virtual network operator (VNO). A TCSP control element sends to a downstream control element, a request for a portion of the infrastructure to be allocated to the TCSP by an infrastructure provider (InP) and receives a response from the downstream control element providing access to and control of the allocated infrastructure. The TCSP control element can pool the allocated infrastructure with other resources allocated to the TCSP and/or communicate with an upstream control element for providing access to and control of the allocated infrastructure to the VNO. System and method for supporting URLLC in advanced V2X communications

Aspects of the disclosure provide systems and methods for establishing one or more Distributed Gateways located close to a location of a UE to facilitate faster packet delivery to said UE during transitions. Such transitions can include the UE transitioning its state, for example from being idle to connected to the network, but also includes operations in which the serving AP(s) for the UE changes. The method includes establishing at least two virtual network function (VNF) components (VFNCs) of a distributed gateway (D-GW), each VNFC associated with an access point (AP). Each VNFC buffers packets directed to the wireless device. The method further includes selecting at least one AP for serving the wireless device, and forwarding the buffered packets from the VNFC associated with the selected APs to the selected APs for forwarding to the wireless device. Packets buffered at the VNFCs of non-selected APs are discarded.
