A patch panel and power distribution system is provided. The system generally includes a chassis, a connector assembly, a power supply and a controller. The connector assembly operates to connect first and second network transmission media. The power supply is adapted to supply output power to remotely located devices. The connector assembly and the power supply are each supported (at least in part) by the chassis, which is generally mounted with respect to a rack. The disclosed patch panel and power distribution system obviates the need to separately mount/locate a power supply and facilitates access to/maintenance of the overall system. Accessory features and functionalities are associated with the disclosed patch panel and power distribution system, e.g., common mode chokes for introduction of DC power to data communication lines and light emitting diodes (LEDs) for indicating the power-related status of one or more ports associated with the patch panel. The disclosed patch panel and power distribution system is advantageously compliant with IEEE 802.3af and TIA/EIA 568B.1-6 standards.

Apparatus and method for communication system

The present invention is related to the modular plug housing insert device that makes electrical contact to a telecommunication plug to complete an interface media connection. The positional relationship of the conductors in the modular plug housing insert device are arranged to from capacitance, such that the Near-end Crosstalk (NEXT) and Far End Crosstalk (FEXT) is reduced without compromising impedance.

A patch plug is provided that facilitates field installations thereof, e.g., using conventional equipment such as a conventional punch tool. Preferred patch plugs according to the present disclosure include a cover and a housing, each of which includes a hinge member to facilitate relative rotations of portions of the housing and cover. Rotational/pivotal motion of the cover and the housing relative to the disclosed hinge members facilitates establishing electrical connection with terminals positioned therewithin. The terminals that may be positioned in alternating pairs to provide improved return loss, and printed circuit boards are provided for further improved performance.

Patch plug design and methods for use thereof

A labeling head includes a printing unit and an applicator foot assembly for printing and applying labels onto a layup of material. The printing unit is integral to the labeling head and prints each label prior to applying the label to the layup. The applicator foot assembly transfers the printed label onto the layup. The labeling head of the present invention can be used either with a cutter, a spreader or as a standalone unit. The labeling head of the present invention prints and prepares labels while the cutter head cuts the part. Once the part is cut, the labeling head applies the prepared label onto the cut part. The labeling head also includes a layup height sensor allowing the labels to be applied to layup having varying heights.
