Methods, computer-readable storage media and apparatuses for processing event notifications are disclosed. For example, a processor receives an event notification of an event from a device of a service provider that is providing a service to a user, wherein the network service provider is distinct from the service provider, determines that the service provider and the event are of a type of service provider and a type of event, respectively, that the user has consented to receive the event notification, sends a message in a unified message format to a device of the user, the message comprising the event, receives a response from the device of the user containing an indication of whether the event is an authorized event, and sends the indication of whether the event is an authorized event to the device of the service provider.

A feeding module for an address book includes a processor and a memory. The processor receives at least one search parameter. The processor accesses information sources to find existing entities and expecting entities that match the at least one search parameter. The memory stores the found existing entities and the found expecting entities. Methods, systems, and computer-readable media for placing orders

Systems, methods, and computer-readable media provide for the transfer of data between electronic devices utilizing a network clipboard. According to various embodiments described herein, a clipboard application residing on a host device associated with a user transmits data from a local clipboard of the host device to a remote network clipboard via a network. A clipboard application associated with a target device associated with the user transmits a request for the data stored on the network clipboard. A copy of the data associated with the user is retrieved from the network clipboard and stored on a local clipboard of the target device. The data is then copied to a target application. This process results from a single network clipboard transaction that includes a cut or copy action on the host device and a paste action on the target device.

Included are systems and methods for directing data. At least one embodiment of a method includes receiving a listing for a data provider, the listing including a plurality of criteria related to the data provider and receiving an indication to add at least a portion of the listing to a personal directory. Other embodiments include adding at least a portion of the listing to the personal directory and receiving an indication from the data provider to send data to the personal directory.

An alert delivery system includes a publish-subscription platform that is configured to receive alert messages from one or more sources. Included are embodiments of a method for communicating data. One embodiment, among others includes receiving a request from a user to contact the at least one data provider associated with at least one listing stored in a user-defined directory and in response to receiving the request, facilitating activation of instant messaging logic, where the instant messaging logic is configured to refrain from displaying presence information associated with the user.
